Are we still allowed to submit portals within 40m of private single family homes (and apartment complexes) if they are public or communal spaces like clubhouses, pools, trails, and parks? I feel the new guideline means to pay close attention to ensure that it is NOT on PRP but some think we can't submit anything at all within 40m. What's the correct interpretation? There's also no mention of apartment complex/community areas as acceptable in the guidelines and many things are getting rejected for PRP reasons because of this confusion.
Why are the rules concerning waypoints going live ingame different between Ingress, PoGo and HPUW? If someone only plays PoGo, they may find an Interesting POI, submit it using PoGo, it arrives in Wayfarer, but the POI already exists as a portal in Ingress but not as a stop/gym= duplicate and refusal for the PoGo player without knowing why, as that certain POI isn’t live in “their” game.
Not all Niantic games have an intel map to check. And there’s no way to find out what’s hidden behind the scenes. It seems to me using an universal tool (Wayfarer) to build up 1 database (NIA real world platform) but having 3 different sets of rules about what goes live is not something that was well thought about in advance. And I don’t think you can expect player of game a downloading game b to first have a look to the situation in a game they don’t play. Since Wayfarer submits went live in my region for PoGo, a lot of duplicates are reported. You can’t blame the submitters, as this is caused by the 1 tool, 3 games, 3 sets of “what goes live” rules.
Setting the rules for Prime and PoGo the same would, in my opinion, also reduce the (for a lot of people frustrating) portal edits to move a portal just a bit to the left or right (or up/down) to be in another S17 cell. It happens now because an Ingress only POI can become an multigame POI with moving it just a few inches.
Other NIA games would also gain content by setting the Ingress rules as a standard imho.
Due to this way of handling, frustration is caused (lot’s of “trash” in OPR). And it’s so simple to deal with it from your side.
Extra question: on the PoGo pages, we can find this: “Please keep in mind that not all eligible PokéStop nominations are able to appear live in Pokémon GO. However, they may appear in other Niantic games.”. Is this same true in the other direction? Meaning: if the new candidate is too close of an existing portal but doesn’t share an s17 with another stop or gym, is it possible content only goes live in PoGo and/or WU and not in Ingress?
Sorry for posting multiple times, but these were generally enquired about in the community here in regards to OPR
3. Many well known smart phone Companies have an automatic Water Marks on their photos. Few Submissions which have only the phone model of brand name as watermarks, where the submitter is non identifiable. Can we accept these? Do we have leniency in such rural Submissions?
For e.g: Watermarks like "Shot on OnePlus", "Shot on PoCo".
4. Submissions made while in a vehicle, if the photo is clear and is a valid portal. Can we accept such Submissions? (This can help in rural submissions)
e.g: The Submission seems perfect but the car dashboard is slightly visible in the bottom right. As long as the Submission and the details are correct and the portal is valid, can we not accept these portals?
Regarding the policy that you must be able to reach out and touch a wayspot for it to be safe, does this disqualify objects/paintings on the outside of buildings that are too high to reach from the ground?
Doing missions in Prime is slower and less enjoyable.
the time between hack and confirmation is just slow. And while doing actions (deploy, firing bursters etc) there is no indication on which portal is next. This makes walking missions slower and more of a waiting game.
i am also missing to navigate to portal feature which I often used to get a sense of direction a mission is going.
as far as bonus features a search would be nice. Also would be nice if you finish a mission the current mission name would be shown on the mission finished screen. So you know which mission number you are at before selecting the next one.
Are businesses that are educational and promote exercise like dance studios, martial arts dojos and art classes allowed the same way a College or University would be?
Is the current bug that eats our submissions being looked into? Prime submissions had worked without much issue until the last few weeks and now submissions are getting lost even with a stable connection.
1. Will investigate.ingress.com be back again? I think storyline is imperfect if this website is unreachable.
2. What about ingress.report? It was updated for months, then no longer updated for one year. The latest post is about Cassandra Prime. Is it duplicated by this community?
3. Why all of Microsoft Azure IP are blocked by Prime server?(I have changed all regions and changed ip addresses) I used to use it as vpn to connect to game and intel map because of Chinese special Firewall issue. Is it possible to submit my server ip to remove from block list?
When will we see an update to the Intel map. That separates alerts from Activity, so that we can scroll back in the history of an area without being spammed by our own alerts?
Please make one test, send all your developers on site and tell them to play on Prime. But not on high end smartphones. Just use regular ones. Like with SnapDragon 7xx or even 6xx series and 2-3 GB od ram.
Then tell them to play on Anomaly on same phone.
It looks like devs are not using Prime at all. Maybe when you will change this, Prime will playable. I'm big fan of Prime, but my tolerance for all bugs is almost exhausted.
Are there any plans to have a dedicated employee working forum appeals? In October there was a 9 day span where not a single appeal was responded to my Niantic. Then when someone does respond and deny they give no insight as to why when more than sufficient evidence was provided.
Edit as I can’t remove this post it seems: the AMA info is available in Wayfarer under the “Help” and “Wayspot Acceptance criteria - update log”. Ignore the remark :)
AMA’s are giving a lot of useful OPR/Wayfarer content. But.... it’s only available to Ingress players visiting the community pages. As Wayfarer is now open to a lot non Ingress people: why hide this content for them? Why no Wayfarer latest news specific page accessible to all Wayfarer users, as this isn’t Ingress only anymore. And AMA Q&A is sometimes more valuable compared to the actual “Help” or “what makes a good waypoint” pages.
Why not making a separate Wayfarer app as a stand alone product? To make it easier to use on mobile screens and make it more rewarding: getting goals to earn in-game money for the game of your choice (or other rewards). Getting push notifications if entering low content density area’s (Like “see something which would make a great Wayspot? Open the Wayfarer app”). Even getting notifications to go to a nearby waypoint to have a look if the report its invalid/to remove it is correct or not,....
So much possibilities with an stand alone app to revamp and smoothen the whole system. And to make the free work more attractive and rewarding.

I know this feels like Overkill but

When will sorting keys by name be actually fixed so that keys are sorted by name and not "mostly" sorted with random keys in the middle?
What are the chances we could get some embroidered patches in the ingress online shop? Everyone loves patches.

Hello Andrew
Just a question :
what is your position about a Casino ? Should is be a portal ?
Thanx :)
For submissions

Will there be is season 2 to Ingress the animation?
Are there any plans to do MDAS again next year?

I have been seeing many outdoor lounges in my review area like in this reddit post https://www.reddit.com/r/IngressOPR/comments/d7yv0i/thoughts_on_outdoor_bbq_as_gathering_place/ . Provided it's in a community area and not private residential property, would this fit criteria as a gathering place? How should we be rating these?
Is there any plan to refine/improve the quality of actual POIs? So many trash approved.
It has been a long while since recursion and benefits of the badge were discussed. Are there any active plans to implement perks to it?
Hi, andrew, I have three questions:
1. Will investigate.ingress.com be back again? I think storyline is imperfect if this website is unreachable.
2. What about ingress.report? It was updated for months, then no longer updated for one year. The latest post is about Cassandra Prime. Is it duplicated by this community?

Can you give OPR a different AMA or forum for those people to reply to the 999999 OPR related questions that always appear on these?
When will we see an update to the Intel map. That separates alerts from Activity, so that we can scroll back in the history of an area without being spammed by our own alerts?
John Hanke said it was an issue 5 years ago.
Where is Niantic at with a real Intel map. Niantic was created out of the ashes on Maps.
There are certain functions and capabilities that would be useful to the GAME.
Can we confirm that products and places related to smoking (Head Shops, Weed Dispensaries, etc.) count as Adult Services and thus are instant 1*?

What is the plan of Niantic against Spoofing and Multi in Prime ?
What will Niantic do with the targeted Wayfarer portal rejections?
Hank Johnson is Courier? What the...?

Seeing this a lot on OPR?
Swing set's, slides, Jungle Jim's, **** bars, Sandbox and other play grounds objects. Instant reject?
Can you show the start date of playing on profile? Would be interesting to know. I know you store the data.
When going through my keys to recharge them within 10 minutes I can guarantee it will lock up and need to be closed. When will this be fixed?
When you put here in AMA that something is eligible, I MAY or not follow the instructions, or I MUST follow the instructions? AMA is just suggestions?
