I think I have the 7 paintings and I think taking the first letter of each painting (English and use brand) is such that the 1st and 3rd letter are the same, and the 6th letter is one after that. 7th letter is 2 after 6th letter.
I found a site that uses the cypher that people mentioned way back on the 4th page and seems to take accent marks. In alphabet, I replace 'ch' with underscore just to make this work. I use "Repeat" mode and standard cypher.
I get some letters that decode... but is this right? is 'lnn' in it?
Does the decoded set of letters have accent marks as well? if so, how many?
You seem to have the right key. Make sure the 4th is also correct, there are a few possible names for it.
Replacing the "Ch" with a special character does the trick. Pay attention to the green characters they give u an important hint of a step to take before the decoding.
my main complaint in the end is that by F-ing with the final step of the passcode they created a serious probability that someone who had the right method would abandon it, or just stare for hours and hours, when they were 99% there
That happened to me and I must say it ruined what would otherwise have been a very good puzzle (because I had the right code, the right key, the right cipher, in the right alphabet, and the right letter-number format but I still couldn’t see a keyword)
so there’s a hint: at the very end, if you can’t see why that extra bit is there , you’re probably ok ... there really is something useless in the middle there
Seriously. I had the basic concept of this figured out yesterday, ex a LOT of screwing around. Thanks to elRi0 for going over my data with me. Without a sanity check I never would have kept with it.
Yes, that. ALL previous puzzles that had output similar to what we got? It implied a further stage, that we still needed to use the current set of clues to perform another stage of the puzzle. Specifically, with the n2esab puzzle where we had to loop back some three times before we were done.
Instead, with this puzzle, it was just ... done.
So I was already exactly where I needed to be about 7 hours before I got my media. I even have a PM record showing I'd had the correct decoding key, and I was definitely looking at everything backward and forward. So, yay?
Normally I'd make a punny joke referring back to the method, but in a weird way where you'd usually only even notice IF you've already finished the puzzle. But this one, nope I'm just annoyed.
I have 13ar and 'qamu' someone mentioned above, so at least 5 of 7 password symbols should be correct; but I think the rest is close too. But it just does not work and keyword makes no sense. And does not look like anagram of something that makes sense.
Can someone confirm that
1) the end result is 19 symbols, 2) the keyword is 9 symbols, 3) the keyword is "common English word" - like 50K google hits? 4) is keyword produced by last decode step as is, or scrambled?
This happened to me with Dreamer because they happened to choose a keyword that had the name of a digit in it (and was not in common usage). Of course we were all inexperienced back then...
So yea, unfortunately I'm running out of time for today. With all the clues and me believing that I know the meaning behind the 'colored' characters, I managed to reverse engineer an 'ar' at the end.
Unfortunately, the real key to the decryption method is not obvious to me. As I said, I tried some combinations with one leading to 'ar'. But still having a non english character at the beginning of the string leads me to believe that I have not chosen the right key.
I guess my biggest hurdle right now is: what to do with 'which' of the names I gathered from the pictures.
I will see what further information I can gather from clues tomorrow. I take an L on this one :)
You're probably exactly where I was 7 hours before the solve: right decode key, but with the unnecessary bit of obfuscation that made the last few steps invisible. I had the correct decoded string, but the extra bit of obfuscation needed to be (mentally) plucked out before using the colours, before ACTUALLY being plucked out. No pluck, no keyword. But pluck, the colours don't work. So kinda darned if you do, darned if you don't.

You can pm me on tg and lets see what you got .
I think I got the same ones they did I am not sure what to do with them though
I cannot seem to find elRi0 as a username on telegram
Okay... this is where I am...
I have the 19 letters from the picture

Right or wrong track?
Sorry, forgot to write tg name @ri000

So, is the 4th letter 3 positions backwards from the 1st letter.
When I decode the 19 letters... is the answer on the other side of that decode have 6 letters with different accent marks?
After that initial second step, still don't know what to do with what we get... nor how the 4 green/blue letters help me?

I see the "13ar", but the keyword dont make sense tô me... Maybe a language barrier... Or a panting with wrong Name...
yea.. that extra bit threw me off for a little while there... i'm like.. that was..... WHY.......... WHYYYYYY?!?!

JoKeRs TrIcK baby. The one secret here is that there's no morning in the final result
Did the maker confuse a playful funny trickster with being just plain tricky?
Alphonse Mucha. KICK HIM OUT.

there’s a fine line between “trickster” and “several minutes of bleeps”
You are really close ... see my comments (and other’s) above . Something extra is in the middle that needs to be removed
don’t ask why, it just needs to be done
1) no, 2) no, 3) yes, 4) neither
see my most recent comment before this one. you're super close.
@DrHydrosaur , @GorillaSapiens
Thanks! That helped, got the media.
I guess that 'something extra' was a roadblock for brute-force attack, but, well, they could make it 'delete me', or something obvious like ó_ó.

Please stop asking to be spoon-fed the solve. EVERY. SINGLE. WEEK.
Who are these people and how come they redeemed the passcode within a few min of being posted? Fair play please.
2020-02-17 20:00:28: SQL
2020-02-17 20:01:33: Kokuryuu
not minutes, but hours..challenge at 19:00 UTC.
Kokuryuu he is one of the puzzle designers (skeptic) and tested listener
Well this is the time according to my time zone so it is indeed minutes after.
Ok so they basically had it solved in advance and just redeemed as soon as it got live.
It should be still UTC time in the decoders list. So 1h and 1 min. apprx.

You are so close! The non English character is useful!

You should treat all of the characters as non-english in this challenge. Getting non-english characters after decoding with a key is expected.
