the numbers I got when I was done with that part gave me 5 4 14 1 10 14 15 17 1 17 5 1 5 1 18 so thats only 15 and it doesn't give me any letters that make sense except for AR am I way off?
You are counting changes, but some things you are counting as two changes could be rethought of as a single change of a different type. unfortunately, it also looks like at least somethings you are counting as one change should be 2 (unless you made a counting error ... easy to do here, I did)
Once you figure that out, you will have 15 of the 16 numbers you need.
The last one relates to the “extra word” at the beginning ... whats the smallest set in set theory?
If you are sure that the suffix is fine then analyze how you obtained them and sometimes one can travel a path from the beginning to the end or from the end to the beginning, so I did. It's something orthodox but it worked for me
I feel like the last 2 puzzles were much easier with this one I think I sort of know what I am supposed to do but I am not getting the right numbers for some reason.
I knew that my counting method was somehow wrong because I was getting the simple differences correct and the difficult differences incorrect. Which is how I ended up with 13A very early and also the very first character of the passcode and not much else. I then managed to get four chars of the prefix correct, three chars of the suffix correct and only two chars of the keyword correct.
The bottom right hand corner was getting me nowhere and distracting me far longer than it should have. Still don't know what it means lol.
I realised I should have googled the proper method for what I was trying to achieve which helped me finally solve the puzzle! Thanks for all the clues, nudges and hints!
I know my counting method is wrong but I'm not entirely sure what I'm trying to do is called? I'm sure it has a name but I have been doing most of this by hand on paper is there like a calculator for this online? because I know I was able to get 13ar but useing the same method doesn't get me the rest of the passcode or the keyword.
Exactly what I am looking for too. Once I have the string of numbers I know what I need to do with them but getting to that point is what I am struggling with.
if you got the keyword, 13ar and 16numbers, think about the bold word positions.
if you got 15 numbers and keyword, think about this .
If you can’t even get the number or keyword or at least 13ar, check the typo first, type it on something without autocorrect. The number requires a bit of computer science knowledge.
i think I give enough hints here, thanks everyone helping.
Anyone else having problems redeeming the passcode? When I put the wrong one in it told me pretty quickly it was wrong. I think I have the right one now, but it won't redeem, it just hangs.
if you’ve come this far, are close, and still stuck:
Part of the hard part is knowing what the basic units of change are. If you don’t know much about computer science ideas about how to read in and edit a string of symbols it’s not obvious what they should be. There’s also the issue that there’s more than one way to describe the changes.
The answer is based on three very basic types of changes, with one being a combination of the other two.
You’re also looking for the smallest number of changes if there’s more than one way to change from one to the next. Look closely, there may be a more efficient way to make all the changes needed.
They're not wrong. The bottom right referred to the algorithm you used to solve this. It really was the key to answering this, you just might not need it if you already know what you're looking for.
is there more than one method you need to use to solve this I cant get more than 13AR I cant get a solid keyword. I am assuming that they keyword falls between the 7 words starting at Zombie and ending with rationalises 7 words 6 numbers therefor being 6 letters?

yea.. that's not right. you're a bit too far for most of it.
The required method is well known and described. I even found online tools. True, after I made everything with a pencil.

The last 2 are correct, before that no, if you already know that it is before, analyze how the last ones were obtained to adjust the method
So 1 is A and 18 is R?, how do I get those freggin numbers 😭
I think I used the same method for the rest that I did for the last 2 so not sure where I went wrong

Just sing your ABC's and you should be able to answer that question.

For those still stuck towards the end of the puzzle, maybe try a simple cipher.
I know there is a direct relation between numbers and the alphabet, I just want to understand how to get the [ .... 1 3 1 18] string.
Exactly what I am looking for too. Once I have the string of numbers I know what I need to do with them but getting to that point is what I am struggling with.
Got it! Thanks for the hint of page 1!
😀
Help, wheres this walk through you speak off?
Should be got it earlier 😂
yup, all hints here are useful.

There is a new end of year item passcode that is clogging up the redeeming stage.
"if you got 15 numbers and keyword, think about this ."
Think about what?
“this “ or “ this” but not “this”
reminds me the time I was still doing programming contest at online judge, getting input is part of the game
its a bit bloody inconsiderate releasing both so close to eachother.. REDEEM YOU F**KER

Raise the hand who has no idea what has been said till now.
Me: 🙋♂️
A hint for a stupid person please? Thank you.
Still 'Redeeming'... don't sweat it, you can't redeem it even if you get it right.. Thanks NIA. Just like my 'exclusive passcode' that was invalid.
From what I understand, there is one "method" to solve this puzzle. Once you get a keyword that makes sense, your prefix should be correct.
Can confirm the keyword is indeed 6 chars in length.
