Why is it not possible to get a clear explanation about the problem(s) when missions get rejected? At the moment it feels very arbitrary and reviewer mood-based.
To me it makes no logical sense that of 6 missions cut from the same image with the same text one gets accepted and the other rejected, with different blanket email rejections (and by different I mean each having several possible causes of rejection...)
Would it be possible to have a person to give an explanation? That would certainly cut some of the frustration of the process.
Are charity headquarters valid candidates? I'd think they'd fall under candidates that connect people but haven't seen any info about charities in the submission Guidelines
Hope you got your flu shot for the season, gotta plan ahead on these things heading into Umbra and the Winter.
So, speaking of planning ahead, "MISSIONS/BANNER MISSIONS" Question:
Where would you like to have your suggestions from agents shared with you, for Banner Mission Improvements? I have more ideas as usual and wanted to get them to you and the development team, so we are heard and more people flock to them globally? I know, "Niantic Community Page," but, you see........ As a full fledged feature of Ingress, Banner Missions does NOT have its own section, and with how many pieces of Ingress Banner Mission touches, its quite clear that Banner Missions needs its own section for feature suggestions and improvements. So, can se please have this section created too??? Would really make this feature of the game, much more improved to help you, and have us help development, too. My thought is, "Feed them your ideas, so they can then think about how the game can be even better than before..." Rather than, "Damn it, I've never played the game, and they want this feature... but why??!!" So, would love to have a section for Banner Mission Addicts please 😀😍 Would some good Mom's Lasagna make it happen sooner than later? 😂🤣 - Thanks again, for everything - A2PANTHER
Do structures that meet the same usage as Gazebos such as pergolas, pavillions, ramadas, arbors, etc fit acceptance criteria? There's a lot of debate about this on the forums
Why did Niantic make a complete mess of the "pay for anomaly badges" situation? Did it not think communication was necessary or that it was a bad idea to do this mid-series.
I think at Ingress Anomaly make face to face communication between Ingress Agents and Niantic members. How can we make face to face communication like as fire side chat at future Ingress event?
When the release on the beta version of "Ingress Prime" is coming out?
Since the map of Epcot as "Future World" area will be gone, All pictures' portal will be erased in Epcot, because of the Transformation of the new reimagined Epcot as 3 new neighborhood area: World Celebration, World Discovery and World Nature and I have the annual passholder employee preview and the question is........
When the transformation of the new reimagined Epcot is coming for Orlando to a whole new pictures' portal?
When the second season of "Ingress: The Animation" is coming out to Netflix?
When Double AP and Triple AP Points is coming back to Ingress Prime?
I second this question if that helps with choosing things to answer. Im particularly confused about the example photo on the submissions guide that would make that a valid submission? It's a picture of chairs outside a restaurant and would get rejected instantly in opr no matter how good of a description we wrote. It would really help cut back on some frustrations if this guideline could be a little more detailed.
Can we decrease portal nominations from 14 to 7 every two weeks? Having less means agents will be more discerning about what they submit and will give opr reviewers a chance to catch up.
Would Brian consider allowing agents to possibly sell small businesses/restaurants a portal contract where they perhaps pay $5-$10 a month for having their own portal rather than charge for anomaly participation/badges? Seems like that wouldn’t be a very hard sell and could potentially make the game more profitable for Niantic while at the same time increasing portal density.
Hi, Andrew, thank you for doing AMA again during this time.
What is your key takeaway from the backlash of the paid anomaly ticket, and the backlash from last minute announcement?
Is 2020 Q1/Q2 events still on or still in limbo? Why the choice of Q2 sites? (two, if not three, seem to be dominant by one faction.
Is the future of events with NIA presence (Basically, anomalies) still in jeopardy? Or worse, all events and/or the game?
Are events like Field Test, which sanctioned by NIA but without NIA presence onsite, going to be the future/mainstream events of Ingress in the future?
We were promised better stability with Redacted go away, why two hours long outages in less than a month? Does moving to a common architecture with other NIA games mean Ingress is now competing server resource with them?
Is there any progress on more micro-transaction for the game, say, paid inventory addon, increased hack rate, AP multiple etc. that are present in PoGo and seems accepted by players, and tbh, anything else seems could be better received than paid events?
Speaking of PoGo players, is NIA leadership aware how irreplaceable agents' contribution are? I mean, they wanna cut the game loose, but do they seriously consider letting trainers and wizards control OPR?
Can there be an appeal process for OPR portal rejections? Ever since the release of rejection reasons, I have had a valid submission rejected for unrelated reasons, which seems to show there are OPR reviewers who review using their own imaginary guidelines. I honestly think I should have a chance to appeal for my rejected submission directly to Niantic, rather than subject it to the randomness of OPR, as well as report that abusive reviewer who simply does not make OPR better.

Places like schools and private property say that we are to deny all nominations on those properties. Does this precident extend to the denials thst we are supposed to do on "Adult orientated Businesses" (**** clubs, liquor stores).
Example, a mural is painted on the wall of a marajuana shop. Are we to deny the mural because it's on a place that should not be accepted or are we to not worry about what type of business that it's on?
It's great that rejection reasons are being added to rejected candidates in their emails, but can we have the ability to see the actual reviewer comments when it gets rejected on the "basis of not meeting acceptance criteria"? Sometimes I can't really tell what reviewers are thinking when they reject, and there's only so much reading past OPR AMAs can help me with. I feel letting people read the actual reviewer comments can help submitters make better submissions and identity bad reviewers who arbitrarily 1* for no good reasons.
Lately as an American Ingress player who has to rely on OPR priority points to get submissions to actually get reviewed, I noticed that an upgrade doesn't feel like an upgrade, as wait times start to extend longer and longer. Can there be a way to actually add more reviewers soon, whether it's through lowering the level requirements or adding more reviewers from other Niantic games (like say a peer nomination system or a lv req)? I feel the upgrade feature has lost its appeal to many agents, and the retirement of Redacted has also created a reason for many Ingress agents to quit. This has created a void in OPR which is only going to get worse as time goes by. Although it's in Niantic's best interests to maintain a good Point of Interest database, I don't think this is going to matter if the current set of OPR reviewers just judge by their own guidelines, which makes them no better than non-Ingress players who know 0 things about the guidelines.

Would Brian also consider selling portal submission bundles? For example, 10 to 100 extra submissions for a cycle for $10-$100. It seems like it could help out some areas that really need the help, or allow for someone to help other areas more when they may be between submissions and not likely to return.

I've posted about some issues I've had with our last first Saturday banner here https://community.ingress.com/en/discussion/5068/ingress-fs-banner-frustrations#latest

Will Redacted agents get a special badge for being there for so long?

Could you add the INTEL link to the email of new approved portals please? (as it was in redacted)
It is very useful and much easier to locate the new portal in INTEL.

Hi, Andrew, thank you for doing AMA again during this time.
How many applications did Niantic receive for Niantic LIVE 2020 with Ingress as one of the proposed events.

What kind of attention is being given to areas in the world whose OPR backlog is becoming insurmountable because of Pokestop Nominations?
To what extent does Niantic take care of local permissions & other legalities when organising an event such as an anomaly? :)

Could you add a distinction to the portals already visited?
It would be very useful for the Explorer medal.
Is there an ETA on fixing the lack of notifications since the 3rd in Prime? No one in our entire cell has had a notification since then.
When you and the PoGo CMs, George and Indigo (not sure his real name), go out for a beer, how do you determine who picks up the tab?
