Helvetica and Prime Artifacts
It has come to the NIA’s attention that Nemesis - specifically the operative known as Helvetica - will soon be summoning copies of an array of Prime Artifacts from across the multiverse to our Earth. Helvetica intends to harvest those artifacts towards some unspecified end, and claims that it is in our best interests not to interfere. But we cannot allow their plans to succeed. As such, the NIA is incorporating collection of these artifacts into the upcoming Field Test operation, to facilitate collection of these Artifacts by Ingress Agents around the world, to keep the Artifacts out of Helvetica’s hands. We estimate that if Agents collectively harvest 13331 Prime Artifacts, that that will be sufficient to prevent whatever Helvetica is planning. Good luck, Agents: Aurora defeated us last month… we must hold the line here.

Is there any reward for success? Punishment for failure?
Is there any reward for aiding Nemesis / Helvetica ?
As long as Arial doesn't turn on us too 😭
What is he going to do? Change the font in Prime?
Although I'd prefer Arial or Verdana we can be glad it's not Wingdings.
Comic sans is the real enemy!
or... comic sans!!🙄
Your scanner font will be changed to Comic sans-serif.
Harvest media? I thought we were done with this!
Can we recycle or should we keep them in inventory? 👀
hm so no global event then, what about medal in scanner will we get if we win or ?
Make green ui for the enlightment and we will help.
Pienso que después de las pruebas de campo harán un evento global
That's actually terrifying.
Event medal planned?
I want to pin another pink Nemesis badge on my wall
I'm new to the game, and I'm really enjoying Prime and the previous challenge was really fun, looking forward to the next one, but excuse my ignorance, what are artefacts? and how do you get them? I noticed you mention the NIA Field Test Operation, will this be possible to participate in if you are not able to get to one of these cities?
You're going to have a bad time!
Umbra? xd
Maybe it would help if we knew "what Helvetica is planning", to help motivate people who are going.
Help some of us newer players understand, what are artifacts?
Also, will I need a vehicle or need to find parking?
Will I need a laptop?
Will I need to hike long distances? Should I pack and wear hiking boots, running shoes, or just comfortable kicks? Will I need my CamelBak? Or a compass? Will I need to bring my booster equipment?
My nearest event is across the border and I'm not sure what to pack. There are a lot of things I could bring, but would only want to pack if I will need them. Crossing the border they may feel the need to inspect everything. I'm debating the balance between less is more vs. better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. Less = faster border crossing.
Keep them until success or failure is announced. Niantic will be counting the number of these items in inventory.
Artifacts, in this context, are likely special media items. Niantic will run a count of these items at some point after the Field Test ends to see how many are in participant inventories.
That said, because this event is testing new scanner interactions, we don't know exactly what form these artifacts will take. At present, I'm assuming that it may operate something like one of the objectives at the Abbadon Prime sites. We hacked specific portals to get media items, and were scored based on how many unique media we had per player. I think it will go this way simply because it's a system that has been tested before, and is way less likely to glitch out than the new things we'll be seeing.
Is this a new challenge?
Are you aware that Helvetica as a negative event discriminates the whole nation "Federation Helvetica" = Switzerland.
This is not a nice move @NianticOfficial please rename it to sometin like Americana ... or somethin neutral.
Ingress events like these are generally meant to be playable on foot (at least, anomalies are), and the 'playbox' or boundaries for the event at each town hosting a field test event should thus be walkable, and have cell phone coverage (boosters should not be needed). Make sure that you will have suitable coverage in the other country on your cell phone plan, though! Or make plans to get a local SIM or something. Expect to walk a lot within the playbox, and accordingly wear comfortable footwear for urban walking.
You should just need your scanner, an external battery if your phone might run out of power, and snacks and water are always advisable to keep you going through the event. Don't try bring food through borders, though .. buy some once you cross. (I'm not sure which two countries you are talking about, but this is a good rule of thumb).
Who is helevtica?
What is an artifact?
How does one harvest artifact?
Is there any point?
Thanks
You really believe you get any future pocs for an anomaly site in switzerland for using this Name for such an event?
Dream on....
I d Love to do another Anomaly in Basel, with this move i ll do Anything that you dont get any Support in switzerland for auch an event...
Helvetica is a member of a shady and previously unknown corporation called 'Nemesis'. An artifact is a media item similar to the Lightman drops a few weeks back. What the artifacts are this time around is unknown. You obtain an artifact by hacking a portal. The point is that there might be consequences for both factions in future anomalies/events.
If you want to know more about the story head to the investigate tab and look on /r/OperationEssex
probably the reason why practically no official ever dares to take part in swiss events. maybe the nl1331 car doesn't stop in switzerland anymore because of that
But the whole point of Field Test is to see what glitches in a controlled setting so that it can be observed, recorded, and hopefully fixed.
