Running a Niantic event on the afternoon of Easter Sunday feels like a miscalculation by people who don't live near family and don't have family gatherings on religious holidays. I guess we saw this coming when the event was announced for the 16-17 but placing it on the 17th is particularly bizarre.
I would say that more would definitely be available. Personally, still too much prep for Sunday that I would need to do, but thays mostly because I host for Easter. I think more people as a whole would be available on the Saturday.

In Kythera Phase 2 and 3, 10 target locations will be picked from all applications received via this form: https://forms.gle/id3vFqXQ1MuEj95E8. Each of these 10 locations will be worth 26 points (totaling 260 points per phase). For May, apply by Sunday, 24 April. For June, apply by 29 May.
The application talks about "hosting". What does this "hosting" entail? Do we speak of anomalies of the old style? Or will there just be a few beacons lit by Niantic?
Anomaly on Easter Sunday? Seriously? I don't know what are the traditions around the world, in Italy we use to spend Easter Sunday with our families. Are you really asking your players to choice between spending an holiday with their families and spending on a game?
I'm not very religious, but really Niantic, why do you schedule a mini-anomaly on one of the two Christian high holy days, which also happens to be in the middle of Passover?
It does appear that the beginning of the Septicycle will coincide with the anomaly window for Phases 2 and 3. Given that these generated battle beacons are deployed by NIA Section 14, I'm guessing they may have the NIA multiplier.
Came here to say the same thing. Easter Sunday is one of the largest religious holidays in North America, why on earth would you not take this under consideration when scheduling? Might as well just have one on Christmas Day too.
This is exceptionally poor planning and will negatively affect agent availability and participation across the country.
To reiterate a point made above, weighting points by Category level disincentivizes competition if you know you are significantly outnumbered. Fighting hard in this situation will only give more points to the other team, so the “smartest” strategic move is to not play at all, or fire one burster per beacon just to get the badge. That’s a bad mechanic.
No, if one faction doesn't play then the other faction will just get all 13 points for that location, independent from which CAT the beacons were, so there is an incentive to at least win on some beacons and so get a share of the 13 points for the location.

I celebrate Easter and for me will problem with gain medal of Kythera. Would it be possible to postpone this event to Saturday? . It would help.
