• We updated our loading flow with the Powered by Niantic Lightship logo to reflect our recent Lightship upgrades.
• Adventure Sync connects with Google Fit or Apple HealthKit to record your walking distance even if the Ingress Scanner isn’t open. This distance is used towards the Trekker medal and also completing Kinetic Capsule Programs.
• Portal Scan Meshing on supported phones allows Agents to better see what has and hasn’t been scanned during a Portal Scan. Meshing is an opt-in feature; all devices that had access to Portal Scanning in previous Ingress releases can continue to use the point cloud visualization.
Bug Fixes
• Fixed: Missing keyboard button in COMM Chat.
• Fixed: Hard lock when trying to re-scan a Portal.
• Fixed: Subscription Refresh button in the Settings menu sometimes fell below the fold.

Please update so that agents who have purchased CORE don't get the "join core" graphic and details on their scanner? As we don't need to see this when we visit store. Thanks.

That's gonna help out a lot.
Hopefully it'll track better with biking because having ingress open as active app doesn't track for me. Biked 30km, ingress counted only 4km🤬
It should count alot more since u dont have to worry speed limit

I just started playing Ingress about a month ago (October 3, 2021). I've been playing Pokemon Go for about 3 years (about to be level 40). You MUST have Google Fit for Pokemon Go's Adventure Sync to work.
Any progress in getting the basic functionality of the game working?
I'm ready to walk away, like Google fit, and all 4 Niantic VR Game!!
How soon will samsung health be added?
@PkmnTrainerJ push notifications when a Kinetic Capsule Program is complete isn't in this release, but we're working on it.
@jontebula I don't think you need to install Google Fit in order to enable Adventure Sync in Ingress on Android. If you're seeing an error, please let us know and we'll investigate further.

Now that we have a new loading logo which nobody looks at, could we make it so that the game loads in background no matter what's showing on screen?
I would rather have no logo, no name, and no notifications about events if that means the game actually loads when I tapped the game icon.
But internet went down for 1ms when loading any logo? Game just dies on the logo. Closing it gets the select account screen even when there's just one account on the device. If there's one event to show on screen, nothing will happen until it is dismissed. Also the screen won't turn off ever, wasting battery. The design is poor, to say the least.
Allow the screen to sleep while loading, allow the game to load right away.
Ps: I get notified about events through many Telegram channels, no need for in game notifications, really.
Thanks for not addressing the recent lag spikes that cause the hack/deploy/recharge buttons to lock up. Not being able to play the game is exactly why I started playing the game.
I test the new app from Niantic Pikmin Bloom and the app view we must have Google fit app install to run it.

Hope Niantic can enable Samsung Helth for android soon. Work mutch better than Google on steps.
Did you know if Niantic will help all Samsung users can enable Adventure Sync with Samsung Health?
The addition of the adventure sync function is welcome, but at the same time, there are very concerns.

Is there any countermeasure against manipulating fitness walking distance? Such as using debugger of fitness.
Pokemon Go, another game of Niantic, has launched the same feature that allows to get XL candy when walking without prohibiting it, leading to the collapse of the battle league ecosystem. The championship will be held soon, right? Most of the players are cheating like this. Like doping. It's easy to know this just by looking at the trainer's profile. I can't believe there are so many people who have already circled the earth many times just by walking! Isn't that amazing?
If it is released without countermeasures, the Trekker medal, which has been difficult to obtain, will be received as Onyx in less than a month from many agents to their dogs, and the kinetic capsule will destroy the game ecosystem. Do you really want the game to be ruined? I look forward to hearing from you.
To get steps counted offline yes
@NianticBrian will this update allow us to choose if we are able to take longer photogrammetry (wayspot scanning) videos?
Frequently find that it will prematurely stop.
Then have to do several more scans to complete scanning a wayspot. Which is kinda annoying

Updated to 2.83.1 on iOS and have turned on Adventure Sync in settings. Many on/off options to give Ingress access and permissions to read/write in Apple HealthKit. Does Ingress need read/write access to every single option for Adventure Sync to operate properly? Can we just turn on certain Read permissions so Ingress can pull HealthKit steps and walking distance data? Does Ingress need to write in HealthKit at all?
Clarification would be great. Thanks!
Okay, so I'm on an iPhone 12 Pro Max. I have a Lidar scanner that wan't used at all; has this changed?
Furthermore, I have the latest update and can't Opt-in to this scanning feature, so I assume the iPhone 12 Pro Max isn't supported? :/
Also, when launching the game, we now get a Niantic Logo, then Niantic Lightship logo, then the actual launch of the game. Can we get rid of one of those? We don't need to spend more time looking at logo's or loading animations :/
@NianticBrian @NianticThia what are the system requirements for Portal Scan Meshing? I don't have the option on Samsung S10e.
As far as I am aware, all you need is a device that has a accelerometer AND gyroscope
