Perpetua Hexathlon medal distribution update

We always appreciate and welcome your honest feedback, both the good and the bad. Sometimes making changes can lead to better experience for many, and we recognized that potential for this event. We’d like to share the new event medal distribution as below:
- Perpetua medal: earned by completing all six challenges
- Perpetua Elite medal: earned by completing all six challenges and placing in the top 10% in their city for any of the challenges
Your scanner will only display one medal. For example, if you are an elite performer, to view your Perpetua medal you will need to tap on the Perpetua Elite medal on your Agent scanner
If you did not earn the Perpetua Elite medal, your scanner will only display the Perpetua medal and the Elite medal will remain locked.
The Field Test: Hexathlon medals will be removed from this event and remain as a commemorative medal for participating in the Field Test. This will also apply to the Lexicon Hexathlon event on April 25th.
Each city will have their own leaderboard; be sure to register for the event to stay informed with the latest details.

Interesting, it would be nicer if the medals were the other way around. The Elite medals look boring compared to the non-elite versions.

They're fine. Considering that majority (probably around 80%) of the players are gonna get the regular one, that's a right call.
R u saying thatt from last field test, ill only lose the purple one but still keep the blue green one?
You'll keep the one you have from the field test. The medals obtained through field test will not be affected by the regular Hexathlons.

Choose the events command in the menu in the Ingress scanner.
As much as I understood from the new text, each should earn the Elite one again and previous one will be locked. Having Elite Medal in the first Field Test won't grant the Elite one in Perpetua or Lexicon.
Are these the codes leaked in the last month?

That's unlikely. Most players who want an elite badge will concentrate on one or maybe two categories; the theoretical max is 60% of players getting an Elite badge, and at the Santa Clara Field Test it felt like 40-50% of attendees got Elite.
I'm sorry but just because you made your scanner look like a leprechaun tripping on a psychedelic rainbow doesn't mean the Purple and white badge looks good. The Normal badge looks way better.... give us a reason to be hungry for it.

I'm still gonna go for minimum badge that is gold and black because it just looks better IMO.

Is it possible to give in-scanner feedback on such things? Or was it just people mass posting here? I would have liked to have the fieldtest medal, but it was impossible for me to get it in September and I now thought, cool, I can get it at Perpetua. So I just booked my flights and hotel, and now I am out several hundred of euros for a medal that I cannot get :( That I can get another medal, sure, but that is not what I was signing up for.
Niantic, stop disappointing and changing the rules after publishing them. This is the major thing here. Once published, it is fixed, only under extreme circumstances (eg. event site becomes unsafe) should it be changed.
They made the right call. Sorry for your pixels loss.

C'mon, think positive and keep in mind that you can easily get a Perpetua medal, while to get an anomaly badges Persepolis or Shonin you need to invent a time machine

You're missing the point. When the event was announced, we were promised a certain medal, now that is taken away. I do not like broken promises, hence why I have to voice my disagreement. I won't comment further, and await @NianticOfficial 's response.
