Feature Request: Fast single-deploy for unique hunting
Sometimes I just like to wander through an area to get unique caps/visits. The deploy sequence for doing that takes a lot of taps and is prone to mis-taps.
Long pressing a portal currently gives you a hack-key option on the top left and a hack-no-key option on the top-right. I would love to have a single-deploy option at the bottom that would deploy a single resonator of the lowest level in my inventory and then take me back to the map so I can repeat the process efficiently on the next portal. This would be great for exploring a high-density area.

This would be a really nice QoL (Quality of Life) update.
I thought about the se idea back almost 7 years ago.
But now, ambivalent, I can tap cap and hack in just a couple of seconds, a gesture may or may not give any improvement.
Though I'd like to be wrong on this.
Single deploy is only difficult if you drive and play. And really you shouldn't be driving and playing a game on your cell phone.
So, complex glyphing a L8 portal while driving is bad? I usually get around 50% speed bonus on those...😘
Before people start crying over it, I'm talking about a portal at a stoplight. Get the sand outta your panties
Perhaps bus drivers should go, slower?
@VenomousToad Single deploying slows me down when I'm walking.
@Hosette while we're at it: I'd love a full deploy feature as well. Long-press should give the usual hack options at the top of the selection 'disc' and deploy options at the bottom for both single and full. Might even be good for the lag as well, when only one command has to be sent to the servers instead of 8.
I got quite used to it with this past event...and then fully deploying
@MoogModular I have no interest in fully deploying when I'm hunting uniques. That would require me to skew my inventory too much toward resonators and make it harder for me to keep my lifetime ratio of three destroys for every deploy.
YES! Make cargress great again.
That's too much like the game playing for you. Single deploy has a use, auto full deploy? Nah...
It might make portal defense too easy, when you can full-deploy with one long-press while the opposition is trying to take down your portal.
Yep, I thought the same (of course way after I posted). Thought of a solution too: timestamp, and only one time allowed within a day, but getting too complex to build maybe.. would be good for lag, but maybe bad for gameplay.
I'm not a fan of one-step full deploy because, as mentioned by @saarstahl, it would skew portal combat even more toward the defender than it already is.
One option to allow it would be to limit the deploys to R1, or maybe R1-3. Another option would be that it's only effective on a portal that has been grey for some period of time, maybe a minimum of one minute. I'm not sure if Niantic keeps that bit of information attached to each portal, though, and if not then that might be be difficult to implement.
The server is always the winner in Ingress
If you have to think to hard about it, it's not a good idea for gameplay
