Feature suggestion: "No Items" glyph

How about a glyph we can enter during the channel open screen to request no items but give a bonus on AP. That way we can still glyph hack when the inventory is nearly full to still get points.

I think a general hack-no-items would be useful when working on Explorer.
It should if full inventory just give u the points and no items simple.
Only if you enter the 'no items' glyph. Otherwise, if you did want the items and just made a mistake, you're stuck waiting for the portal cooldown before you can hack again (after recycling some stuff of course).
Long tapping a portal gives you option of no key or key hack. I feel like it should be easy to implement as the hacker badge is hindered by your inventory.
For reference, long pressing a portal in your view shows this:
Everybody who has got those badges in the past has done inventory management to get there.
"Try and leave this world a little better than you found it” clearly doesn't apply to you
I would quite like that command as well.
And another for "keys only". For this one they could assign the "key" glyph as a command glyph.
What glyph could be used for "no items"?
Not(/inside)
Niantic wants people to buy Core, so I doubt they add such feature at this point. But I would appreciate something like this, honestly.
I would also like the ability to set the preference glyphs as defaults. I use complex 100% of the time and less about 95%, and entering them each time gets old quickly. I have no idea how many glyph hacks I've done in my life but since I'm approaching a million glyph points the best approximation is "a lot"... I've easily glyphed complex and less at least 30K times and probably a lot more.
This exact attitude is what keeps the developers from allowing this game to stay relevant. Ingress gatekeeping at its finest. Some agents did it this way just fine ten years ago, so it has to be that way forever or else some made up founders union will write stern letters to Brian. Which doesn’t matter either since I’m sure he ignores those just like he ignores these forums.
@ZeroHecksGiven Agree. It's like saying that capsules shouldn't have been created because people managed by dropping items on the ground one at a time when they wanted to swap gear.
I have enjoyed the challenge of hacking uniques while trying to use as much inventory as possible (and recycle low-level XMP). But an option for hacking with no items would be a welcome addition for agents who don't want to bother with inventory management.
I wouldn't object to a permanent default hacking preference, but I honestly have no problem with drawing the command glyphs. It's a reflex action for me: swipe the hack button, swipe the 'complex' glyph.
Problem is that developers (or specifically product managers) in general hate adding new options because they think it makes their product less easy to understand and navigate.
Joe is usually never serious with his posts.
Inventory management has been a thing but that's because of the 2k inventory limit. If there was inventory management for hacking materials, it should be a benefit to the server and the player altogether. I don't need L1-L3 gear. I know Brian mentioned this in the past so there's at least been some thoughts about this.
I wish we could have an option to turn off gathering of keys, resos or xmps in settings. So if out uniquing, you didn't have to waste your time and server time recycling or my 2nd fave, dropping hundreds of keys as I go.
Are you okay?
A "keys only" glyph would have been amazing during this last event. I already have core but i still had to pause every few minutes in the middle of key farming in order to recycle hundreds of items. The boost in gear output for hacks during the event was insane.
Every one of those keys is a Level 0.5 power cube. Think of the portals that need recharging!
Because no one currently has hundreds of hypercubes? Keys are just a waste of cpu cycles when I'm uniquing a new area. That or like I did today, when I have too many, I'm just gonna spray 8 from each portal I'm near, because its faster than recycling the stupid things.
on any given day, 7/10
Same, same
Okay, finally got to 5000 Chronos points for the elite medal and I must have deleted thousands of level 5 and lower resonators, xmps, and cubes just to continue hacking. While granted, deleting items gave me something to do between cool downs, having a "no items" glyph request would have helped immensely as well.
