I don't think it's a good idea, to create a new post on the forum to forward a picture from the primememe channel, totally because by doing so, you could then refer to this post in the unscrupulously suppresing players IUENG channel group, as the IUENG is deliberating preventing players to discover, go to and subscribe that MEME channel by stopping players from merely copy and pasting photos there and not even forwarding.
Doing so is not only not respecting Ingress forum, as it should not be used purely as imgur.com, and not respecting another player who received a manual warning by sending a legit MEME photo with no channel information there and actually should not trigger any predefined rules in that chat group. It's a bully.
Proof (please notice that the warning to the user, is placed manually by a moderator there, not by automatic rules set for a bot)
Not to mention the fact that by making a thread "mainly used for linking memes" on a forum instead of turning to corresponding service like imgur.com, you are adding additional workload to the forum moderators. This is a misuse. You are not even collecting or inviting players on the forum to post MEMEs in this thread.
It's like using Github repositories as the CDN for commercial websites. The same logic. If a post is created not for discussion purpose then it's not proper to be on the forum. Please do not indirectly promote and advocate some rules defined in someone's own playground to players worldwide.
Not true. When MEME is posted on Ingress forum, on the purpose of "just upload it so that can link it in a chat group", moderators upon receiving reports, still have to examine whether it's promoting hateful conduct towards other players or Niantic employees. As we all know, some MEMEs are trolling at Niantic to some extent which sounds legit if only in fan channels but not proper on Ingress forum.
It's been widely seen that MEMEs are increasing in fan channels and players community significantly in the past two days. But not increasing after your post here. I suppose it's because you clearly said that this post is to link MEMEs to a chat group, not inviting players to upload and discuss MEMEs. Why saying "it seems not everyone likes MEMEs" (Everyone can see that this is not true) when using Ingress forum purely as imgur.com is indeed a misuse?

And I have to point out that, the improper chat group behavior that leads to your making this thread, is a vindictive act.
Please do not encourage their hateful conduct by "making workaround" that normal players don't necessarily do.

Your concern of more workload for the forum moderators is... ironic.
@NianticVK Please close the thread based on the lively discussion that is going on here. Unfortunately, it seems not everyone likes memes.
I agree to close this thread but the reason given by the author is not true.
This thread if not for us players to share, discuss and like memes. If it is, I will say nothing.
It's for "link MEME to a specific chat group", as admitted by the author:
which does not comply with the idea of Ingress forum.

didn't get to share this in time with the rules release, but alas
That was a good one wish there would have been time to still post that one 😂
At least there's still no playbox.
Eh, you don't need a playbox for this type of event, right?
As long as you don't want planning, organization or strategy, nah, not required. Hell rules were overcompensating in that case.
