Kureze Effect Pay Gate - Orlando, Florida. $109

Niantic needs to remove the Kureze Effect portals from the Disney Parks in Orlando, Florida. Seven portals selected by Niantic to spawn Battle Beacons are located in Disney's Magic Kingdom and seven others are in Disney's Epcot Center. Entry fee is $109.00 (a special price for Florida residents) or $149 if you want to be able to visit both parks over 2 days.
Agents don't usually object to a $5 or $6 entry fee to a National or State Park, but these Disney fees are outrageous. This game should not be giving an advantage to the affluent. Please remove these portals!
If you agree that these should be removed, please leave a comment below identifying your faction.

If agents from both teams didn't have regular enough access to battle over those portals they never would have been selected. Passholder and cast members with access shouldn't be left out because some other players don't like it. There are options for playing all over Florida.
This has already been hashed out in another thread, starting here.
No this has not been hashed out. This is a different site from Disneyland. This is DisneyWorld. This is an official local objection.
I literally linked to a comment about Disney World? Besides, the arguments for/against either location are the same, I imagine? 🤷♂️
There's options to deploy your own. The weight of these are 5x.
I'm a bit more concerned about how they were determined altogether. You have Tampa and Pinellas County left out but not the inactive SWFL portion? I really am hoping it was more than scoring cells because Disney World itself spans two scoring cells.
I am not going to take the risk of COVID exposure to play Ingress in a park with so many people from other states and countries. This is unfortunate that Niantic selected portals located in Orlando that were "all" within the Disney world complexes that are inaccessible without $100+ ticket and other associated costs in me.
I am a senior citizen and have enjoyed playing Ingress over the years. Niantic's decision does not take into consideration the risk to player health or limited income.
Disney is self contained and can limit it's crowds and require masking. Have you been to St. Augustine on a weekend lately? Everywhere is going to be crowded in Florida when it's nice out.
Most Magical Place on earth (outside the Kennedy space Center) + ingress= Scooore!!! what’s this… a medal (while following local safety guidelines) Sounds like a Win, Win. Concerned players can deploy their own battle beacons and create there own anomaly. Removal of beacons do not get replaced, why take this away from a tourist or local?
Agreed. Imagine traveling cross country and getting to participate in Kureze while enjoying your Disney Vacation. It's wrong to take that away from anyone. This is equivalent to a child breaking his toys so no one else can play with them.
We would rather take the event away from the normal player? This should be about the best event for the overall game. If some one tells me that these portals will be as utilized for the event as a public place I would support it. But, this would not be the case.
Have the objectors ever been to an anomaly? $109 is less than I pay for gasoline in an average anomaly road trip. $109 is two nights in a really cheap motel. $109 is less than my event fees for Cassandra Prime!
If we're cancelling anomalies because no one wants to spend $109, we might as well cancel all anomalies ever. The big events in this game aren't for cheapskates.

It has come to my attention in multiple group chats that this portal beacon objection has been posted due to shadow reason: Resistance players work at the theme parks. @NianticBrian @NianticThia @NianticHilda
While I don’t agree the beacons should be locked in a theme park, removal does not replace why ruin it for players already visiting the park. “concerned”players should use their resources (battle beacons) given to them by Niantic in conjunction with local health and safety guidelines
That's a new one.
From my experience as a past annual pass holder years ago, there was communities of both ENL and RES for WDW.
Florida residents still have the advantage to get discounts through an annual pass or the special rates available. One look on their website has 2 days for $149 which is one theme park for the day. (Adding park hopper is $50 more.)
Shocked me too. knowing the xfaction community and tourists will be attending, removal of beacon should not be condoned
“Have a nice day” 😘
That indirectly leads to the most important part of this issue: If the Disney portals are high-activity portals because of a community of employees and pass holders who play in the park, then these self-described "normal players" who won't pay park fees t play aren't the community that actually uses those portals. They're a nearby community that's jealous of the community with the cool portals.
Niantic opened a really stupid can of worms with this "community consensus" BS -- there's nobody who speaks for an entire cell. All of the complaints are coming from people who think they speak for an entire cell, but apparently aren't as active as the agents whose activity selected the Kureze Effect portals. They're just jealous posers.
Orlando is just an odd case. There's just a lot of tourist activity. If there are adjectent scoring cells without a city selected then the best solution would be to add to that cell and give the locals more options that don't have a paywall within a reasonable distance.
What are you even going on about?
Does Orlando theme parks and resorts attracts spoofers as well? Maybe thats the case
One of the people defending the locations in this thread is an Enl park regular. Let’s not make it about factions.
I have no skin in the game here but in general a policy of avoiding pay gated special portals would be nice. Not sure Niantic has the staff to check everywhere though.
You could have complained in advance to potentially have them removed from play...
