2.86.1 Release Notes
What's New
• When Adventure Sync is enabled, a push notification is sent to alert Agents when their
Kinetic Capsule Program has completed running.
Update: After speaking to the team, we need to have all Agents on Ingress 2.86 before we can enable this feature and we're targeting before end of day Monday, 13 December PST (with the disclaimer that things could change). I'll post again here when the feature is enabled.
Update 13 Dec: The team has enabled the feature. Please let me know if you do not see it!

Nice!
Will this notification come through when the app is in the foreground, like the current attack notifications?
A push notification, we get.
Will tapping on that notification, actually open up Ingress straight to the Kinetic Capsule?
Nice
Can we get the same for drone?
Why is there no push message if the capsule was completed in the conventional way?
and any chance pikmin could stop blocking ingress notification ? (and every android ones) 😅
That seems to have been fixed:
This is a nice QoL update, but
༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ Give Native Refresh Rate
༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ Give ingame Language selection
Thank you for your work.
And fix the russian translation please!
What? When you have the app open you don't get any notifications, except for the drone being ready, and that's a line that appears on screen. The only notification you get is the small line in the bottom right?
Because you have to have the game open for it to count distance anyway. When the game is open there are no active notifications.
>Because you have to have the game open for it to count distance anyway.
Well, not anymore. A few updates ago, Adventure Sync was added, which counts distance even when the game is closed. This new push notification now notifies you that a Capsule is ready so you can open the game and claim it.
I know. But AS is an option, and the question was: Why is there no push message if the capsule was completed in the conventional way?
:)
ah, well, it helps to read, I guess 🙈
Can't wait to get this update(i'd prefer official apk download page not waiting for staged rollout).
And also i'd like to have more informational kinetic cooldown message(not "come back tomorrow" but smth like "cooldown N hours".
With this current update it's impossible to submit portal requests on iOS. You can only submit on the exact location you're at at that time, because the GPS marker keeps getting reset to the current location. **** Nia.
EDIT: Four submissions now have been flagged as 'Fake nomination' because the location isn't correct. FML.
I could have sworn i did not get a push notification when my capsule completed today. (Yes im on the latest version)
The notifications will be enabled server side once everyone got the update
So, why not post this in the release notes? I was walking with 7.9/8.0km, did over a KM and didn't get any notification. But I guess that's as expected.
Do we get notified once this is enabled? :/ *sigh*
Don't know about you, but I can certainly get push notifications while the app is open (Android).
iOS doesn't get active notifications with the game open. :/
Anybody know the status of this? Today is December 8. Is it on? Off?
Also, would it be possible to get some clarity/transparency on exactly how this works? For example, in the Scanner>Settings do I only have to turn on Adventure Sync or do I have to turn on some other specific Notifications setting? What is actually driving Adventure Sync here? Is it pulling data directly from my iPhone's GPS or is it pulling it from HealthKit? If it's pulling it from HeathKit, I'm not exactly certain what privileges need to be turned on and HealthKit isn't asking for permissions so that seems odd. The Adventure Sync page mentions HeathKit so I'm just really curious about the entire process.
I updated the main entry/release notes but posting here for those who receive notifications (HI FEEDS.)

@Coopersmith - Adventure Sync documentation is being drafted for Ingress however Pokémon GO's info may share some insight until then? (Spoilers: Ingress's will be very similar.) Does that give you info you're curious about or no?
Unfortunately it doesn't. It's as opaque as, well, something opaque, because it mentions both location tracking AND the Apple Heath app.
It makes sense that one OR the other would be required, but it makes no sense to me whatsoever that BOTH would be needed.
Here's the page I'm seeing this; https://niantic.helpshift.com/a/pokemon-go/?p=web&l=en&s=troubleshooting&f=troubleshooting-adventure-sync
If I set location tracking to "Always" yeah, the app should have it always and therefore not need access to anything else in the background in order to calculate the distance. If I set HeathKit permissions to allow access to data, then the app shouldn't require access to location data, it should just pick up distances from my workouts.
So I'm curious how Adventure Sync actually works as opposed to what I keep hearing in my local channels about "theories" about how it works. For instance, some people are saying they get results by putting the phone in a Pringles Can and spinning it around in circles to confuse the GPS signal, while other's are saying it counts "steps" and can be fooled by bouncing the phone up and down while sitting on a couch. All of that seems ridiculous to me. ;)
What? When you have the app open you don't get any notifications, except for the drone being ready, and that's a line that appears on screen. The only notification you get is the small line in the bottom right?
With attack notifications on, I get phone notifications about ongoing attacks, while the app is open.
I certainly don't. Weird. Anyone else on iOS can confirm this? I've NEVER had active notifications with the game open. Not even with REDACTED. When the two scanners could be used to play, I'd get active notifications from whichever app was in the background.
I'm on Android. And it's happened ever since Prime, for me.
What does it look like? Because all I see is a small line in the bottom right of the screen, no sound, no notification. It has always been like that :(
I think we're talking about different things.
I get phone notifications while the app is open. As in, in the notifications section of my phone, attack notifications appear telling me that someone has attacked a portal I'm on, or someone has messaged me. The same as how I get Telegram notifications when someone pings me. Redacted never gave me those attack notifications while the app was open, and just had the in-game alerts.
What I don't appear to get is any notifications for a capsule completing, though I still get an alert in the game for it happening.
