Any chance someone can tell me if I need to know more than just the names of the archetypes or if the names alone are enough (might push me in the right direction, or it might not). Thanks
It's 100% true. Some of the clues have been so in your face that people have been theorizing it the whole series, publicly, on the forums.
The people who solved fastest, kept notes, and had these ready to go, as soon as the puzzle dropped.
I had 9/12 correct initially. Dreamer was easily assumed, but had a couple of possibilities, and I made silly mistakes in my notekeeping for Skeptic.
There's 4 main parts. The previous puzzles spare bits, the order, what (and how) to combine them with, and a classic substitution that's been used over and over this series.
None of it seems difficult, if you know all the methods used this series, and introduces no new techniques.
I meant, notes on the spare bits, and intermediary solves.
If you are completely lost, and have solved all previous puzzles, take a look at
WARNING, it's a massive spoiler for this puzzle (and parts of it (might) be wrong), and I personally believe it shouldn't have been posted to the forums this early in 13. (but it was posted before 13, so whatever)
Thanks! I have solved all the previous challenges and kept notes of the spare bits I could see, and the intermediary solves. I'll go have a look and see if it's got what I'm missing.
So I'm fairly certain on the outputs of 9 of those baubles, and at least three are decidedly just guesswork. I maaaay be able to accidentally deduce those if I could say with any certainly the ordering they expect us to use. Just visually, I see a few options, including 1) straight top-to-bottom, 2) left top-to-bottom, then right, or 3) leftmost three top-to-bottom, next three top-to-bottom, etc. Or a reverse of those.
But none of those orderings gives an immediate indication that it's either correct or terribly wrong, neither straight nor rot13. (And that's taking into account the three "guesswork" ones I've mentioned).
If you know what method you need to use next you can find one key position based on what is to be expected as output there. This will help you deduce the right order then. Good luck!
Hm. I did this but it still took me an embarrassingly long time to discover the order (even so I was quite surprised to be as low down as #76 on this challenge and even more so that I dropped a few places on the all-challenge leaderboard). There are many variables here, including which string to use as the ciphertext and which the key.
OK, I've now managed to solve Patron without knowing how to get the right answers from Alchemist or Catalyst. Somebody will have to fill me in later. Or maybe start a cryptobin using the Patron passcode as the key?
well, I screwed myself or not being able to save the notes from my previous solves.. I'll just have to resolve all them again.. oh well.. I wasn't really doing it for the leaderboard stuff anyway.
need to compose myself, grab some breakfast, get in front of my computer.. and crunch away.

Seems like it should be obvious but I am totally clueless after 4 hours of trying to reverse engineer 13ar from the 24 letters ... :-(
Glad i'm not the only one.

I'm told you have to use the bits that were discarded in the challenges, but I don't know how.
If this is true, I hate this one with a passion
Seems that some of my flights are correctly added to my miles account, however, some are added wrong :(
Need to figure out whether I can retrieve the old boarding pass...
I have a very appropriate keyword and a 13AR. I also have characters 1-4 (I think). But stuck on 5+6.
It's not the names of the archetypes to use there, but something you can have from past challenges
Given that Ezekiel Calvin was the The Patron of Niantic Magnus, maybe it is mocking him( or the whole Niantic Magnus) what the keyword is.

I kept notes. It's doing me no good at all. I don't have "spare bits" from every challenge.

Oh thank you more than I can ever describe. This was what I needed and thankfully I could fill the gaps ... also had to resolve half the puzzles!

I think I'm at the same spot. There seems to be a shortage of vowels and a surplus of m's? Bit hard to make anything useful out of this.

Thank you Niantic for giving me 13 memorable medias
I am currently mostly stymied by Omniscient, can't see where or what the mystery pair is.
It is very subtle indeed. A case thing you can easily miss.

Done.
Cryptobin explaining how to get all the extra data from the previous challenges. Password is the Patreon passcode (lower case letters and digits)

I said the same thing. It was only you though. Congrats!
Hi, is there someone I could compare my previous challenge data with? I am not sure mine are 100% correct and that may be why I keep failing..
Hit me up on tg: Jimbo9R

I feel like I'm missing something obvious.
1. I have letter pairs. I'm almost positive on 10 of them. A little cautious on 2 of them.
2. I believe I have them in order.
3. I'm using one of two common solution paths, but I am coming up with a keyword neither through logic, guessing nor brute force.
So I need extra bits from all of the previous puzzles? I've solved everything so far but I don't see any extra bits in like half of them...
yeah.. I did the same thing too.. 😑
not always extra bits, but they have a sign / different from the others
