Perpetua Hexathlon: Naha Cancellation & Mission Day Naha Postponement
Agents,
Thanks to those who planned to join Perpetua Hexathlon: Naha and Mission Day Naha.
We regret to inform you that we have decided to cancel Perpetua Hexathlon: Naha planned for February 29, 2020, and to postpone Mission Day Naha planned for March 1st, 2020.
The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infections in Japan have been widely reported in the media. We have reviewed the circumstances, and in an abundance of caution for the safety and health of all concerned, reached this decision after discussing with local collaborators.
We will announce the rescheduled date of Mission Day Naha at a later date.
For all agents who have registered for the Perpetua Hexathlon: Naha, the standard Perpetua Hexathlon Medal will be added to your scanner at a later date.
We will also be in contact with registered agents via email.
Thank you for your understanding and your support.

what will happen to those who have purchased airline tickets
who is responsible for that loss of money
Your travel insurance.
This is the disadvantage of no sign up for Mission day...
and if it was done without insurance, I am from South America and here the coronavirus has not even been named
Then you're out of luck. Honestly, if you're flying to another continent, you should always get travel insurance. If you didn't get one, it's basically your own fault. But hey, Naha looks beautiful, I'm sure you can still have a great time there.
I was in luck included travel insurance ,😁
No Philippine contingent will attend to any Hexathlon Perpetua due to COVID-19. It is hassle for you to apply leave for the event then after returning to the country, we have to self- quarantine for 14 days.
It will be a voluntary cancelling and I don’t think it is commonly covered by travel insurance. I feel Japan government should try to urge the travel agencies and airline companies to provide free cancellations to encourage people to stay at home.
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/20/travel/coronavirus-advisory.html implies travel insurance coverage is unlikely to apply unless you have the upgraded for-any-reason insurance, which is likely to only reimburse a fraction of the costs.
That said, I think cancellation/postponement of Naha was a wise decision by @NianticOfficial . If you want to go, you can still go. If you were going largely for the medal, you will still get the medal. This is a considerate and measured response to global crisis. Kudos to Niantic!
When will the Perpetua Hexathlon Medal be added to all registered agents' scanners? It's been over a week since the event. Any ETA for the medal? @NianticOfficial
