#Didact Global Challenge: SITREPs
This forum thread will contain daily situation reports (SITREPs) with agents' progress towards the #Didact Global Challenge. As a reminder, there are two global challenge goal tiers:
- BASE TARGET: 5,500,000 control fields established
- STRETCH TARGET: 8,000,000 control fields established
Successfully defeating Didact by meeting either the BASE or STRETCH goals by Feb 24 at 19:00 UTC will result in the continuation of the following modifications:
- BASE TARGET: 2X drop rate of ADA Refactor; 2X drop rate of JARVIS Virus continues to Mar 2 at 19:00 UTC
- STRETCH TARGET: 2X drop rate of ADA Refactor; 2X drop rate of JARVIS Virus; 2X AP for resonator destroyed; 2X AP for link destroyed; 2X AP for field destroyed continues to Mar 2 at 19:00 UTC
Field creation (and destruction) has surged in the first 48 hours of the Didact global challenge, with agents taking advantage of this first weekend to establish an aggressive start. We continue to monitor the social feeds for agent SITREPs with the #Didact hashtag, with early reports showcasing agents' progress towards their individual challenge goals.
Additionally, we will establish a trendline after receiving 72 hours of agent stats, and will include this forecast in future SITREPs. Given the already noticeable surge in agent activity, it is likely that agents will exceed the BASE goal of 5.5M control fields established before the global challenge window closes. Achieving the STRETCH goal is still to be determined.
Our next SITREP will be shared here in approximately 24 hours.

#Didact SITREP 17-FEB: A trendline has emerged based on the first 72 hours of agent stats, and agents are expected to defeat Didact and exceed the BASE target of 5.5M control fields on or around Feb 19. However, it is currently too close to call the outcome of the STRETCH target. If agents maintain current activity through the end of the global challenge window, then they should be able to establish 8M control fields by Feb 24 at 19:00 UTC.
#Didact SITREP 18-FEB: Agents have established 3.7M control fields, as well as a healthy increase in Mind Units captured compared to the month prior. BASE target ETA is now 20-FEB, with agents currently still on track to meet the STRETCH target before the end of the global challenge window. Excellent work.
#Didact SITREP 19-FEB: Agents press onward, currently 900K control fields shy of meeting the first BASE target of 5.5M fields. With sights set on the STRETCH target of 8M fields, every control field counts.
In case you missed it, agent @57Cell shared a video tutorial on maximizing field creation during the global challenge window through several linking tactics, like The Herringbone and The Fanfield: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSl3kccxQ4Y
#Didact SITREP 20-FEB: In 6 days, agents successfully established 5,511,652 control fields and defeated the Didact global challenge BASE target. Compared to JAN 2020, field activity during the global challenge window has quadrupled. Excellent work. The STRETCH target is within reach, especially with a secondary surge in new fields created expected this weekend.
#Didact SITREP 22-FEB: With more than 42 hours remaining in the global challenge window, agents have already established 7.1M control fields towards the 8M STRETCH target. A STRETCH target victory is all but certain, and will result in the continuation of the following modifications through Mar 2 at 19:00 UTC:
If you haven't yet unlocked the Didact Global Challenge medal, there is still time. As a reminder, the temporary Didact loadout kit (8,000 CMU) available in the in-app Store contains the following items:
#Didact SITREP 23-FEB: 7,947,482 control fields have been established, with 24 hours still remaining in the global challenge window (ending 24-FEB at 19:00 UTC). Successfully defeating Didact has sent a clear message to NEMESIS going into the 29-FEB Perpetua hexathlons that agents are prepared to battle.
To aid agents in the final 24 hours who may still be working towards their individual achievement medals, we have added a new Didact nano pack (5,000 CMU) with 5 SoftBank Ultra Links to the in-app Store. By increasing the outbound portal link limit, Ultra Links can be used very effectively with fanfields. For more info on fanfields, see this video tutorial from agent @57Cell: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C97xCtswH2E
#Didact SITREP 24-FEB: Agents defeated the Didact Global Challenge as well as the STRETCH target, successfully establishing 8,730,074 control fields during the challenge window. Excellent work.
As a reminder, the following modifications remain in effect through Mon, 2-MAR at 19:00 UTC:
