Questions about Hexathlons

I participated in a Field Test, and have been to many anomalies.
I see Hexathlons announced for 2020.
What are the criteria for choosing locations for Hexathlons?
Is there a way to submit potential locations for Hexathlons?
Does Niantic see Hexathlons replacing events like Anomolies, Mission Days, or First Saturdays?
(also, first post?)

I hope not. But probably it's going to have a lot more hexatlons. They probably decided the first cities based on the one who wasn't pick up to the field test.
Ok I’ll be the first one to carbon date themselves... what is a Hexathlon?
I think I officially have more information on Pokemon Sleep than I do Hexathaons. Come on Niantic. Throw us a bone here.
I too wonder about what a Hexathlon is. Is this something worth travelling to? Is there any more information than it’s a thing in a city on a date?
Get with some seniors, they can fill you in on the field test...
Expect six events, top 10% earn a higher badge in each category.
Doubt how hexa events will replace anomalies since they are not teamwork at all, just solo play for an hour or two and be done.. how is that teamplay? if thats the case then expect a big drop of players from 2020....
I do not know the criteria for selection, but we submitted an application for the field tests. We didn't get a field test but were selected for hexathalon, which is exciting.

What is a check-in portal? How do we find them?
Start portal is announced before the event.
