Vanguard Program Update

Earlier this year we announced plans to expand the Vanguard program from 24 to 36 participants and held an open call for interested volunteers. Vanguards are Ingress player advocates. They are a sounding board for the Ingress team and a way to get diverse player perspectives on various issues and topics.
We are happy to announce that new Vanguards have been selected and accepted to the program. Our Vanguards come from 24 unique countries and represent veteran Agents as well as new Agents who have picked up a scanner in the last year. In our commitment to diversity, we are also very proud of the fact that 17 of the 36 Vanguards are female Agents. Each Faction is represented by 18 Agents and each region has an even number of Faction representatives. The breakdown by region is the following:
APAC: 12
EMEA: 10
NAMER: 8
LATAM: 6
During this process we also had several veteran Vanguards retire from the program. The Ingress team sincerely thank these volunteers for their honest opinions and advice over the last two years. It has helped inform many decisions that were made. We are looking forward to collaborating with the new Vanguards and continuing this tradition.
