@NianticThomas Can you confirm if there are limited registrations available, either on a per-site basis or overall? Agents (who may have already paid for transportation and/or lodging) but who for some reason don't have the update are concerned that they may run out.
Can you confirm it is all local time and the reference to PDT in the registration email is a goof?
All agents should have access to the scanner update at this point. Yes, registrations will be limited by site.
All events start at 2:30pm local time. Because of the peculiarities of the system, it is showing up as 2:30 PDT for all sites; but it is 2:30 local site time.
I get that we won't know the tasks until the event starts, but if any require linking and fielding this will be impossible if there is a large field over the playbox. Will anomaly rules apply if fielded over?
@NianticThomas Will the POCs be informed of the number of participants? Even there is no more POC, players love to gather, to have a drink and fun together, especially when they come from a bit far. And it has to be a bit organized in the city (you know, if you come to a bar as a group of 5 people is different than as a group of 50 people...).
In that small cities Hexathlon is given, there are few players, and such events are a great occasion for locals to meet others. That is the point : the game is social with few players (compared to PoGo), so there is a need for locals to organize the meeting, to give the good mood. Who will organize the social aside of a event ? Will Niantic do it alone, or with local communities ?
With Hexathlon the choice is made to sweep the local community. That is the feeling, we, in Lorient, strongly have.
For those who live near these field test areas or are able to make the travel to them, have fun! For the rest of us, well guess we will wait and see what features end up getting permanetly accepted.
I jz check the location of the field test I'm attending. Now already have extremely large field over the playbox. More than 20 layers.... omg.. Will it affect the event?
that depends if it will be any fielding linking required then it can be hard idk..
It's a test event. They're probably not going to promise you perfect gaming conditions, because a good test includes testing in imperfect conditions, too
@NianticThomas Can disabled people play during FieldTest ? Is there any issue according to the rules ?
