Ingress shutdown during hack event on the weekend

I am quite disappointed that Ingress is shut down during the hack event, on the weekend, without an announcement before the start of the event.


There has been some talk about improving usability of Prime. So I did have high hopes. But neutral portals are still invisible and low level portals are still hard to see on flat view. Perspective view is still dizzy and disorienting.


This is really sad.

    I wonder what the reason is to shut it down on a Saturday. It's the first sheduled update of 24h in all Ingress history. And they plan it on the most active day of the week during an event? Couldn't they do it on a monday of a Thursday? Or just after the event?


    I think it's a strange moment to plan an update.

    It's not the whole weeked, it's not even the whole of Saturday, in fact it's not Saturday at all for most of the world. Friday, July 19 starting at 00:00:01 UTC until 23:59:59 UTC, so even if you are in New Zealand it's only Saturday morning.


    It's not Ingress, it's just the old client.
