Scanner restarts everytime the app is minimized

Previously, I could switch between the scanner and other apps with no issues. Now, if I switch to another android app, such as the camera - even for just a second, the scanner has to restart. I had the same issue several years ago and I was told that support did something on the back-end of my account and the issue was resolved.
