Where To Next?
Obviously as suggested by Niantic is the Ingress Reddit community:
But as a lot of people are aware, Reddit has experienced an exodus of people due to the impending IPO and are not happy with how Reddit is being run.
I would like to encourage agents to join the player run "Ingress Updates" channel on Telegram, as well as the associated XFAC chat which has a much more likely discussion than Reddit and also these forums.

Drinking bleech at this point.
Hopefully IUENG will never be "official" - I cannot participate due to an admin vendetta against me.
Yeah that place is the worst ever, a very bad place imo and the mods /admins that run it are the worst of its kind.... left it long ago for good!
I know people hate Campfire and I’m not saying we should use it, but it’s very weird that there’s a Niantic owned chat app, and they don’t suggest to use that.
The bigger problem is Wayfarer and Pikmin using the new forum…like it wouldn't be simple to just add Ingress to that mix
Vendetta is a really weird way to spell "using my lack of accountability"
Ouch, I'm sure there is an interesting story there. I do have to admit a negative review by joe made me think more favorably about moving to that forum.
Yeah, also Monster Hunter Now. It’s just Ingress left out again.
There is a Ingress Discord Channel!
Dang, I was going to say there's nothing good about IUENG, but you had to remind of the one good thing they ever did.
You're welcome!
I'm waiting for a fan to create a new forums, put ads on it, and make some money!
I can't stand discord...its like slack but removing any threaded discussions
Chat applications aren't a replacement for forums. Completely different type of information.
If this were years ago, I'd probably stand up a customized vBullentin forum. But do I want to even deal with it now? Nahh, not really.
But on discord it would be better organized then reddit but both are terrible yeah… very strange they are killing their own community and saying its a bad replacement after g+ when brian stopped writing outside report bug like over 2 years ago….
Between Telegram, Discord, Slack etc. there are plenty of platforms for real-time communication, with existing communities of various sizes, but with Google+ and now the forums shutting down we're losing another place for longer-form and longer-term interactions again.
Any Fediverse users about? I see there's an existing community on Lemmy but it hasn't taken off:
I know Threads have mentioned Fediverse integration and there is an Ingress Threads account which they’ve never used.

What? Are we intentionally looking for doomed platforms to join?
