8 (EIGHT!) popups each time I open the game

Each time I open the game, I get 8 popups, one for each news item, like this one:

So I have to tap "Close" EIGHT TIMES before I can interact with the game; or I have to "view post" and then back gesture.

Expected behavior:

There is a way to stop these annoying popups. Tapping any button on the popup should hide the popup forever.

Definetely the most annoying thing. And with FitRep(currently useless) it's upto NINE. Especially frustrating when a portal is under attack and time is already limited.

I'd prefer to have option to hide banners.

Ok i got the pop ups back again. It went good for a while, but now they're back 🙈

We've updated the original post with some information. For those experiencing this issue, if you can drop what locale you have your phone/device set to, that would be helpful. So far, we have Dutch/NL.
