Reviewing Ingress Year 10 AKA How should Hexathlons be bought back?

Looking through previous years for the podcast, I was going through the year 10 post.
Within this they mention the below
Going forward, we have plans to
- Improve Agent on-boarding
- Bring back Hexathlon in-game
- Introduce Player-versus-Environment (PvE) gameplay
- Bring Ingress First Saturday back to the real world
- Reopen Ingress Mission Day applications with improved process
I think we have had all these done, save one.
- Improve Agent on-boarding ✅ - Tutorial was updated and released
- Introduce PvE gameplay ✅ - Machina
- Bring IFS back to the real world ✅ - Badge can no longer be earned virtually
- Reopen Mission Day applications and improve process ✅ - They got reopened but I don’t know if the process is better?
So from that list we are just missing Hexathlons. If they come back this year, how would you expect them to work?

We got annomolies back instead - much better
seems very few so far posted.. not enough as not many can travel far over the world to nearest..
Exactly - niantic needs to have many more satellite sites and other ways to participate closer to home, such as connected cells.
Hexathlons have shown to work well with Anomalies or be instead of an Anomaly.
Personally and talked to others, I reckon 2 Hexathlons a year is a good number.
But we need Agent Ops to be released, polished.
MZFPK, shows that Agent Ops can work
Having to use a separate web page to get your stats for a Hexathlon is cumbersome.
It does sound like, from the Roadmap, that it may be coming after the Cryptic Memories Anomaly Series. But who knows.
Maybe that’s what they’re working on instead of FitRep rewards.
FitRep would/should be handled by Agent Ops task system
Would be nice if mini hexathlons were able to take over for First Saturdays, or be an option to be hosted by FS leads.
My ideal schedule would be as follows
Hold Hexathlons in January, April, July, and October for Q1 through Q4, and Anomalies, for the other months.
Hexathlon is held globally like the recent Agent Ops.
The participation and elite medals (top 10% of results) will be split.
Participants can purchase a ticket for about $5 to $10 to receive a special medal and the participation medal.
Participants will receive an email later to report what percentage of all participants they were in each category. (This was done in the Prime Series Anomaly held in 2018.)
A leaderboard will also be displayed on a separate site.
Ideally, Anomaly would host two to three cities in each zone, as it has done through 2019.
However, the type of primary and satellite is discretionary.
But we don't know because there is no roadmap and people from Niantic don't effing talk to us and tell us anything!
Y11 Communication is the same as the previous years, basically no communication.
There is no go between for the Agents / Ingress folks. (don't even know how large or small that team is after previous cuts made by Niantic)
Don’t we have the XMAs specifically for that last point? I’m sure they can update us.
You are overestimating the XMA program
I’m just hopeful (maybe wrongly so) about what it could achieve. But I guess it depends on the effort Niantic put in to it.
There's always hope, I guess
Without a Community Manager there wont be a direct bridge between agents and the company and i doubt they have money hire one to be honest now ⚡
The team is if rumors true around 7-10 people
AHAHAHAHAHAHA
We won't have one again unless they work for free. Maybe they need to hire a free intern?
We have a Community Specialist still don’t we?
10 people sounds about right from what I have heard too.
Every negative post, I'm just buying another Dr Pepper.
Let's stay positive, agents! I believe in niantic and want to pay more for core.
I'd pay more for core even if the only addition was that Boost items did not count in inventory. And good luck with the Dr Pepper, you'll have lots of it just as a result of your own posts.
No u mean Thia? shes gone from the forums and not active at all. She does more internal stuff now things we dont see really
She logged in semi-recently on the forums I think. But I do also wonder about the life the forums have left with no Niantic interaction.
Got stock in Dr Pepper's parent company, eh? 😂
Yes ive been saying for long time forums seems abandoned sadly no time reply here besides report bug section that gets a few replies from Brian at most each month
