A small link from a spofer under the field easily makes further construction of nested fields impossible. Previously, at least the outer field could secure the area, and then from the bright portals to throw links inside.
I suspect a LOT of players don't quit because they don't want the opposition running amuck with nobody to stop them.
It would be far more palatable if everyone was forced to stop at once.
I'd support a staged shutdown - it's a ghost of what it once was. Sure I still have fun, but it's getting more like work than fun, we have no meaningful opposition and it's pretty much turned into a personal "Make profile have more badgers and recharge stuff nobody will ever ****" type situation.
No input from staff or even advertising is also demoralizing.
It would be great to see new players and activity. Current players don't necessarily want the game shut down, they just want a team again. Team gameplay is gone because there aren't enough players to even make a team. Niantic needs to do something rather than nothing or else the game will go away.
Can you really call them "Control Fields" anymore? You aren't controlling the mu under them anymore if another faction can make "Control Fields" under your "Control Fields".
I figure it will end up being some change is made, it breaks the game in a horrible way. Ingress devs and whatnot can't figure it out. They then will point their fingers and claim it's Google or someone else. And they will just shut the game down. Maybe they will just blame it on the Shapers, or xm, or finally come up with some Lore to end it all.
Maybe the end reason, will just be that @RedSoloCup tripped over the server cord and dumped his not coffee (*cough* adult beverage *cough*) on/into the server? 😂
As with anything, if it becomes boring and pointless, quit.
Niantic make enough money to easily entice more players into gameplay and offer monthly incentives for subscription players..
They could do Pogo/Ingress crossovers letting pogo players know Ingress exists.
In the single year (just over) I've been playing I've seen newbies come and go because it's not enticing to them.. some people have better things to do with their lives than play a game. Others are addicted to it.
**If Niantic ever shut down Ingress, I'm sure someone will buy the rights and give a reboot of sorts...
Actually no, nothing on the wall for me. All things come to an end but I don't think we are there yet. I'll keep my rose colored glasses on and keep on enjoying the game. I'll be here till they turn the lights out and I hope that is long down the road.
I'm interested. They don't want to listen to us, they don't want any changes that the community would like. what if the players staged a worldwide boycott or even a riot and most of them would stop playing the game. At least for a week. Would that destroy the game completely (the bosses at the main office would decide to shut down the servers) or would Niantic still make contact with their community?
Why are you pretending to be blind people who do not see that the player base has decreased to a catastrophic level? The fact that you still have a couple of smurfs and toads in your city does not mean that they are everywhere. Small towns are dying out! Many cities no longer have agents. There is no way to play if there are no rivals! The machine does not appear due to a stupid algorithm in cities like mine for more than a few months. And if it appears, it grows up to 10 red portals in a week. And what to do with this situation? Paris used to be swarming with agents, London had a bunch of agents in every quarter, but what now? 3-5 agents per city of a million people walk around the city at noon. What are you there? Do not see the real situation with the game at all?
I'll ask a question. Why are you so after getting it shut down? You seem eager for it to end. If the game is no longer fun for you, say goodbye and leave with dignity. Trying to get everyone else to quit too is a waste of time and forum space.

Much like Catan World Explorers, I'll be still playing till the very end of time
Robots manned by AI now make your favorite bakery products, so the quality of the bakery products you buy is subpar or inedible.
This is in response to your allegory.
Yes, I agree, it's disgusting.
Not really, just the events where the under field linking went up to 7.5km. That's what has devalued fielding big fields.
A small link from a spofer under the field easily makes further construction of nested fields impossible. Previously, at least the outer field could secure the area, and then from the bright portals to throw links inside.
Been there, done that.

I support the quiet quitting movement. Yoda is my spirit animal.

Mind Unit theft! 😂

Come to my box. It's still vintage 2019 in here.
This is where the layer calculation should be removed. Largest field gets the MU... once.
It was encouraged during the Devra virus back in 2014. Teal fields.
Yes, I remember the #TealOrNoDeal hashtag. Do you?

See my original post in this thread.
Have any of these been answered/addressed? In light of today's layoff announcement, does anyone else see the writing on the wall now?
Well - unless Niantic change the way Ingress is managed, I wouldn't be against shutdown. Hoping this might be the shake up Ingress needs.

So, news announcement says no to shutdown.
I don't believe that bullpoop, Niantic is bs and they will of course end up killing this game with their neglect and inoperancy.

Most of the players have stopped playing.
most of the human are dead, but human kind isn't.
stop whining about the past grandpa
I don't know Joe's endgame here, it's not even trolling because no one wins here. The past is the past.

I'll ask again:
what are some circumstances where most players would agree that the game is ready to end?
Are we there yet?
What does core have to cost to make you stop subscribing?
I'll ask a question. Why are you so after getting it shut down? You seem eager for it to end. If the game is no longer fun for you, say goodbye and leave with dignity. Trying to get everyone else to quit too is a waste of time and forum space.
I'm simply asking agents to look at the situation objectively.
I am continually surprised that agents will so willingly gulp down anything niantic shovels in.
If you think they could or should do better, vote with your wallet.
If you think Niantic is doing so bad, vote with your exit.
Don’t be silly, then how would they be able to whinge about every change in the game?
