I tend to retry the tutorial every few releases just to see if they changed anything.
It starts off with you being forced Resistance and build and link, then it switches you to Enlightened to destroy what you just build.
It makes no sense...
At the very least, they should let people pick a faction, do the build, link stuff, animate to opposing faction destroying and building and then have you destroy it in the same faction as you started. Afterwards they can show the how the area looks and prompt if they want to change factions before really starting the game.
But besides that, the format of the current tutorial does not fit a game like ingress.
Technically it fits whatever is left of the lore. The scanner is made possible by utilizing a part of ADA's code. Jarvis comes in and hijacks the signal.
Regardless of what you pick as a new player, you have a second chance at level 3 to pick another.
I never said it was good, just some half idea existed. Somehow we still have the threat of Shapers as the ingression when...I have no idea at this point.

It's still a huge biased mess..

Yes, that too, I am aware of it. I did it recently with a new agent, that's why I am talking about it
True, it's the only thing in game that still fits the original lore.
That doesn't make it good.
It portraits res as builders, enl as destroyers. Good vs evil.
It also doesn't mention the faction change at L3 . New players don't know this.
