Android 13 App Languages Support

in Report a Bug
This is not a bug per se but more of a feature request.
Android 13 has a capability that enables us to set a per-app language setting, which is I think requested by many Agents including me. I'd appreciate if you support this feature.
• Share specific steps to reproduce the issue you’re seeing.
Lanuch app menu, Settings -> System -> Languages & input -> App Languages
• Describe what you expected to happen, and what actually happened instead.
We'd have 'Ingress' in the application list if supported.
• Include your device model name, Android or iOS version, Ingress app version number, and whether you’re connected to 4G/5G or Wi-Fi.
Pixel 4 XL, Android 13, Scanner version 2.97.2. Connection is irrelevant.

PLEASE give us language support
Thanks for the heads up. We're still working on Android 13 support and we'll investigate further.
This would be a very welcome addition.
There are players that set their main operating language to English because the translation into the local language is hindering communication with other agents. Translated Item names and cryptic error languages are not helping imho.
Being able to set that only for Ingress would be awesome.
@NianticBrian
Let me provide some information to help you priorize development items determined by your strategic decision process.
First, one of Android 13 betas, I successfully played Ingress in English while my system language is unchanged (Japanese in my case) with an _unmodified officially released_ app! (Don't ask which version, I forgot.)
Probably during beta development cycles, Android specification was being changed and solidified, therefore we need some code/manifest (app metadata) changes to enable this feature. (I suppose the modification is not much. So you'd like to implement this feature earlier, getting a good feature with a little development effort.)
Second, the REDACTED scanner had this feature. It implemented this feature by itself wholly. And we were told that basically all of the features the REDACTED scanner had would be implemented. You may have forgotten this promise.
Finally, the text translation and layout are abysmal other than English (sorry for rudeness, but true for at least Japanese). And we're tired of reporting each and every bug. (And I wouldn't be able to know what was correct unless I changed my system language to English.)
To sum up, if we implement this feature the Ingress team would get less complaints about localizations and Agents would get a feature we'd like.
Of course, not a few Agents continue using their native lanuguage, so this feature won't solve all problems. And especially Japanese Agents would certainly miss Japanese ADA voice. But these're different problems.
So,it is a decision like was with notifications, not to provide app language selector but wait till 13 release? I haven't stats which version is more/less popular for Ingress, but have (easy enough to find) stats about more popular OS from google (13 still not included but most popular is 10-11 not even 12).
The only way to have good app translation is to have Android 13 on phone. Sad.
Sorry for a bit offtop
Hello together,
for me this solution worked for Android 13:
@Pr0grammansage Worked for me, too. Thank you.
Of course, we need proper support without the special flag setting which requires some knowledge about adb.
And even more, an in-app language selector for pre-Android 13 is desirable.
Forced app to use English interface with adb command. Can't understand why this is not implemented just like accent icon on A13 is not implemented too.
The command is:
adb shell settings put global settings_app_locale_opt_in_enabled false
