Any thoughts on that @NianticBrian? What happens if we are able to duplicate a capsule? Or multiple capsules? Hope someone has some eyes on this. Could become a big problem.

It forces more refreshes. Shouldn't work like that IMHO though.
Otherwise you risk happening what happens in the video - by the time the scanner updates, its just dead.
Tapping in and out like that works, but still slow and you risk thumbing wrong button when you go to use a hypercube, which, usually means certain loss.
BTW can we have slightly improved shield stickiness Niantic? The nerf sucks - even Aegis shields depart way too quickly.
Yeah, that is the way to make sure you are seeing the most up to date resonator charges. Really annoying, but the same was true for the redacted scanner.
As far as I know, the stickiness of shields increase over time; there once was an entry on the fandom wiki that stated it takes up to 48 hours for maximum stickiness; but it has since been removed.
I do believe it’s still the case though, as freshly placed aegis are gone within seconds; whilst aegis that have been on a portal for a while are harder to remove; even with ultra strikes.

TBH, I am just after an update on the latency. I think we all confirmed the speculative fix wasn't working. An insight into the investigation is well overdue.
New features are nice, but waiting 30 seconds (feels like 5 minutes) for a resonator to deploy pretty much void every other improvement.
Surprisingly, the Kureze Effect event went with way less lag than I expected. It was chaos but I accept that if 12+ agents from both factions try to drop a res on the portal, that may cause few issues.
I played a little on the Sunday of the event, but in my 2,5 km walk, I could only deploy like half of the portals without having to stand still and restart the game after experiencing latency. And I wasn’t even close to a city that had the nia deployed beacons.
even the portals I could fully deploy whilst walking were deploying in slow motion.
but it doesn’t matter. Nothing matters, the fact that I launch the game and half the game board isn’t loaded was also handled with a “speculative fix”, but nothing since then. And how long ago was that? Two years?
this is exactly why I’ve dropped my core subscription, they won’t ever learn how to handle the player base, how to handle things on priority or even pick up something they think they fixed with their patch note stating something has a speculative fix. It’s crazy.

now niantic is giving away passcodes to celebrate a year of core, but you don’t get it even if you were subbed for 12 months. That’s the thanks you get; you get ignored on the forums and are forgotten when it’s time to give away stuff.
the game has never been more stale, fields stay up indefinitely if I recharge them, no opposition left to destroy my stuff, so most days I’m just hacking to keep sojourner going.
It’s so sad, if they would only be capable of fixing stuff and actually communicating with the players. I wish they would add something to the game to get resources and improve things. Oh wait…

Right now, the game is blazing fast. Deploying a portal takes seconds. What did you just do, @niantic , I suggest you do it more often.
After many months without being able to do it, yesterday I was able to defend a portal for more than 10 minutes in a row :-)
