Recently, I got the bronze badge of the Courier meet you out there event. After a while, it's icon changes to a picture of a statue. Does this mean anything or is it just a bug?
When I got bronze, the badge display for a split second showed the recursion logo before quickly changing over to the proper "Courier Meet You Out There" badge. I didn't notice anything odd when I got silver or gold though.

Probably related to the long standing issue of portals having the wrong image cached in comms...

Just like @kiloecholima , the issue resolved shortly after and the icon is normal again. But I do wonder, was that a picture of a portal?
