in Mission Days
Greetings Agents,
After reviewing Agent feedback and recent mission activity, we are making the following adjustments to the upcoming #Ingress2S Second Sunday event this September:
Complete any 6 missions created by any mission author, including previously-completed missions, within the 24-hour period from 00:00 to 23:59 local time on Sunday, 12 September to earn one (1) increment towards your Mission Day medal.
Please note that this is a modification from the August Second Sunday event. We will review feedback and mission activity before sharing our October-December event schedule next month.

Lame.
Make Mission Day badge great again! Make people travel for it! Not like this FS #2 kind of thing.
MD badge tick earlier: almost always new city, sometimes new country. MD badge now: 30 minutes of walking. GREAT JOB NIANTIC.
Move this monthly nonsense to a different badge and let it tick every month with no effort like FS badge. But don't touch and devalue MD badge. People travelled tens of different cities for it.
Thanks for making this adjustment! I love the concept of Second Sundays and hopefully this will allow a great many more agents to participate
Unexpected, but not unwelcome.
Kinda surprised. Thought you'd wait until after September for the extra data point. Love the convenience, but it was fun having players concentrated in certain cities.
Maybe I miss in person FS more..
When will we have anomaly badges obtainable from our coach as well? Why stop here?
Awesome! I hope you folks continue Second Sunday MDs and hopefully even open MD submissions again for cities that have not had MD events before.
Thank you Niantic! Good move since lots of countries are in lockdowns again.
And here I was planning to book a flight .
We will review feedback and mission activity before sharing our October-December event schedule next month.
I'm mostly interested in this sentence, waiting warmly for the new event schedule!
A welcome tweak. Hope to see more safe-to-play events like this until we can start travelling internationally again.
Thanka a lot for careful for us ❤
Thank you for nothing, Niantic
Cautiously optimistic. Have to plan my Sept. 12 (second Sunday somewhere undisclosed to knock out six missions).
Great change. There wasn't anywhere I haven't done the mission day missions within an easy drive left--and trying to do this with a partner or friend is super limiting. You have to find missions you both haven't done. Went to Princeton, NJ for August Second Sunday--discovered some of the missions were inaccessible/partly inaccessible due to construction . . . just ouch.
You didn't need to do only those MD missions you haven't done... You could redo...
October: complete 1 mission for ss badge
November: hack couch portal
December: open prime
Are you telling me to spend 150 dollars on a plane ticket to another city to no avail?😒😒😒🤬🤬🤬🤬
I get why they're doing this, but I wanted to add that August actually felt more like a Mission Day than July. I met other agents (safely with masks and distancing) who were in the same city and saw activity in other parts of the city from others. I would love to see Niantic add more MDs to the map in areas that are in need.
Too late to worry about that. You should pay more attention.
They should have second Sunday as a separate badge and hold off on the Mission Days until people can travel again.
Not a fan of your gatekeeping or references.
Totally agree with this.
Yip, should of been a separate badge from the start,
Extremely poor and wrong solution, spoiling the whole game. It would be better if you did nothing at all than making Mission Days like this. You devalue all previous efforts of players with your actions.
I really agree with this too
The flipping back and forth between any six missions and official MD missions has caused confusion. Look at how many agents did unofficial missions in August because the requirements changed from July. If you remember, back in late June/early July, we were begging Niantic for more details on how this event would work. They didn't announce those details until the Friday of a holiday weekend here in the US. It makes me think that Niantic was unprepared and unsure of how they wanted to run the event.
I would have liked to have seen official MD missions as the requirement from the start, and over time add more MDs to areas in need, and open up the application process. If people complained even after all those steps were taken, too bad. If this is an event that's here for the long haul, it won't hurt you that much if you miss the first few months.
Do a separate medal for this event, and don't touch the MD one.
The thing is it was supose to be MD missions from the start,, then they decided to make a weekend of the first event with different rule :(
Considering the worseing covid situation, this is a sensible accommodation. 👍
