To clarify, our usual release cadence is to do a small percentage rollout, typically on Fridays so that we have a larger pool than the Vanguards and XM Ambassadors on Beta, but not so large in case new issues are identified. Then, after confirming that we can proceed, we expand the release to a larger pool the following week. Depending on the release, our rollout can take 1-2 weeks before all Agents have access to the updated Scanner app.
The Layers button will be added to Ingress 2.65 after all Agents have access to the latest update, which means we are not enabling Portal History in the Scanner app today, Fri Feb 12, but we are letting Agents know early that this feature is coming in Ingress 2.65.
I'd imagine "Unique Drone Visits" are a niche layer so they haven't gotten around to adding it. Better to have the mainstream layers bedded down and bug free before adding more.
Can we have Captured and Visited either combined into one layer or be able to be selected both at once? I imagine we'll have to switch between them VERY often.
Wait lots of year and hope we dont get the bad ring from pokémon GO in Ingress Prime when the ring make it hard to see when all portals are very shiny with portals on it is more hard to see if the portal are unique.
I hope we can get flag if we go in to portal to and we easy see if we capture the portal or unique.
Far easier and user friendly to spot one portal with red circle rather one with nothing in the middle of dozens others. The human eye is lazy and tends to pay attention in things that spot out the crowd, not the ones that hides. Or is the invert consuming more RAM?
I know colorful agents dont like it and for them flag best if they click on the portal. I hope Niantic can relese the flag to. I like if more agents can see unique portals in Prime.
Hi everyone, as we mentioned in the release notes Portal History will be coming to the client in the upcoming release. We accidentally enabled it for the 10% rollout, but it will be on for everyone at the same time when everyone gets the client. Have a good weekend!
You won’t have to switch between them too often because more actions (capture/upgrade/mod additions/scanning/photo update) now account for “visited”. So if you just go for unique captures, it would count towards both. ;)
Wow, it was really great to see this feature, even if only for a few minutes! I wasn't able to see portals up close, but it looked quite good to me. Like others, I'd love to see an inversion mode displaying the ones you need rather than the ones you've gotten. Nevertheless, this will be absolutely wonderful for exploring again, even as it is.
I have to admit, I almost cried when I saw portals captured marked in my scanner.
The 10% rollout population seems random as far as I'm concerned. I've been a part of it a couple of times myself so it seems to pick the 10% randomly for every new update.

As of now, the unique feature doesn't track drone uniques yet, and a drone hack doesn't count towards "visiting" a portal for the "Visited" layer
