What's New
• The yellow Portal markers in the Scanner app and on Intel Map indicate Volatile Scout Controller Portals, which grant 3 Scout Controller Points towards the Scout Controller medal when claimed through Portal Scanning. For more information, please see this forum thread.
Bug Fixes
• Fixed: Portal photos sometimes failed to load on the Portal Details screen, and should now display correctly.
• Fixed: We updated News Feed fonts and colors to better match the rest of COMM. See the screenshot below.
• Fixed: Going forward, Agents can only create 1 Ingress account per email address across Google, Facebook, or Apple login methods.

@Hulk32 it's a known issue and we're working on it, but we weren't able to fix it in time for the 2.61.2 release. I'll post a status update to the Report a Bug thread here.

Interesting, can we get a tool to migrate the Niantic profile between Google accounts? I've read there are issues if you lets say, link it to FB, unlink it from Google and then relink it to a new Google account.

This doesn't belong to the 2.61.2 announcement because they have been there for some days already and I still have 2.60.2 at the moment.
As is regularly mentioned when this complaint is posted, the release notes contain all (visible) server changes that occur after the previous release, up to this release.
@NianticBrian the XM pulse sweep audio and visual effect has not returned.
It's absence still has not affected game performance in 3 updates.
It's absence still degenerates the lore of the game. As well as it hurts Ingress's aesthetic for me.
Requesting that you bring it back.

i guess next monday as they just came back from holidays.
Niantic don't appear to push releases on a Monday. But sure next week Wednesday or Thursday is probable.
Which is about the same time Catan will also get an update

Not today, but hopefully day after tomorrow.
Catan got an update last Friday, so not sure where the Ingress update is. Both games have tended to have similar update schedules, despite being completely separate dev teams
@NianticBrian Ingress is fast looking like it has been abandoned by the devs with no app updates, or updates on safe in game events for over a month now.
Hm maybe they are working on a big update now ..... but some input never hurts if they could share...
