There's no circular pulse from player avatar as of 2.59.
Confirmed missing XM pulse
Mobile: Galaxy S9+
Same problem. XM pulse is gone.

Perhaps this change was intentional? It sounds like the pulse caused problems for some people.
I personally feel that I've lost a bit of "art" or "immersion", but its absence has had zero impact on my ability to play.
This was over a year ago. I wonder if @NianticBrian can comment if this is intentional or not? I miss the pulse aesthetically.
