Something wicked is coming next Halloween weekend. From Friday, October 30th 16:00 UTC to Monday, November 2nd 17:00 UTC, the following will be in effect
- Drone cooldown reduced to every 10 minutes from 60 minutes
- 2X AP for Hacking enemy Portals, Deploying 8th Resonator slot, and Glyphing
- ½ Kinetic Capsule distance, reduced to 4km from 8km
- 2X hack output of Resonators and Power Cubes
Please note that for the reduced 4km Kinetic Capsule to take effect, you must activate your Kinetic Capsule Program during the event, as the reduction will not be applied to Programs in progress. To help illustrate, if your Kinetic Capsule Program is at 3.5km/8.0km when the event starts, it will not be reduced to 3.5km/4.0km. The half distance will not be retroactive; you must complete the existing Program and the reduced distance will be enabled on your next Program. If your 4km Program is still in process when the event ends, it will still let you complete the program under the reduced distance.
This event will not have a Medal nor new personal stats added to the Scanner.
Remember to pick up your free treat at the Store, available when the event begins. The Trek-or-Treat Bundle (0 CMU) includes:
- APEX x1
- 5x Agent level XMP Burster
- 3x Common Multi-Hack
As always, please remember to be aware of your surroundings. We encourage players to follow local health and safety guidelines when playing Ingress (such as wearing masks and maintaining at least six feet of distance from other people).

I assume it'll be the case, but just to make sure: if we activate the Kinetic Capsule during the weekend, but don't finish it during it, the distant requirements won't jump back up to 8km for programs activated during the event window, correct?

Awesome. This is the kind of thing I want to see more from Ingress. Little events, no need for a badge or extra stats but just a bit of fun.

One hundred percent agree! Something short like this will be such a welcome departure from the everyday gameplay. I don't want my Ingress to become ANYTHING like Pogo or WU, but an event every once-in-a-blue-moon can be fun!

When it comes to the Kinetic Capsules, will we be locked to 40km for capsules, allowing 10 programs per day or is it 5 capsules period?
I would have appreciated a larger jump distance than more frequent jump intervals. This doesn't help much with the drones at all.
Agreed. This could be a feture exclusive to subscribers, like instead of 500m radius it could go up to 1km.
they should make a global event on drones, jumping via links would be fun.
I think this helps far more with the drones, personally, although that does depend on what they would have raised the limit to. Near me, most portals are either close enough that I can jump already, or so far apart that even a doubling of distance would not help in many cases. Currently my drone is in a city a couple of hundred miles away (I had a necessary journey and dropped it off, it would have been impossible to jump there), so I am more interested in boosting the unique visits.
... Still no double ap event...
Double AP is usually 2nd half/late November - covering Thanksgiving - so plenty of time yet. It often hasn't been announced until closer to the time than this.

Hi, here in France we have been confined since today. So the event falls apart, we can only go out to do our food shopping. Would we have a possibility to play remotely?

The 5 bursters are just 3 bursters.
