" Fixed: When no data connection is detected, the FIRE button on the XMP carousel is disabled, consistent with disabling other menu options."
this is disastrous in places like Africa, where the network in most places can be described as "temperamental" at best. This means that in areas where it was very difficult to take down a portal, you have now made it impossible to ever do so.
@NianticBrian Summer will soon end in Europe, but we have not received any full-fledged, functional, and most importantly useful for the player drones, combat beacons and other innovations. Only one bug fixes come. And look at the Pokémon, every month there is a new event or a new type of items in the inventory.
I hear your feature requests for 60fps mode as an optional setting; however, right now we're focused on a few other areas before we might explore this. In particular, there's still work to do around improving reliability under slower data connections and reducing loading times.
Have you looked at fixing the nearby portals boxes so that a) they're actually the nearby portals and b) they're still visible when your network connection fails, so that you can continue to move towards them with no signal?
It's very frustrating to know "roughly" where a portal is, via other means, but to not be able to locate it in the game before you set up a satellite modem, then discover you're 80m away and have to do it again. Having the boxes remain while you have no signal was a key part of the old client.
Agreed. As well sometimes a portal looks green or blue in the scanner and it turns out to be the opposite color when you get close to it. It makes you waste a lot of time searching for a key to a portal that you can't link to and won't realize it until you either physically go to the portal or after scrolling through keys you find that it is in fact an enemy portal.
@CapeValkyrie to clarify, the FIRE button is disabled when the Ingress app can't detect a data connection and shows the No Data Connection. toast message. For example, if you turn on Airplane Mode, the Ingress app should return an on-screen No Data Connection. prompt. If you are not seeing this prompt, then it means the Ingress app is connected, even if you are in a low signal area.
The problem is in high traffic areas it is being abused in ways that even if you are waiting on an agent to nail a portal you are ready to charge, you can't do anything about it when they don't flip the portal. So an alternate way to split the difference between no stacking bursters and being able to play is erring on the side of no stacking.
The fix to search by name or distance is you have to press either by name twice or by distance twice. It works afterwards. But it is something that is definitely a bug.
You literally have to restart the scanner to get comm/alerts correct. Home screen most recent alert doesn't update correctly all the time and if you have push notifications turned off, you'll have no idea that people are attacking.
For me, on iOS 13.6 (iPhone X), the game crashes right away. Shows the Niantic logo for a fraction of a second. Reinstalling (and restarting)* didn’t work.
I'm on iPhone 11, iOS 13.6 not giving issues. I've just started the update to 13.6.1 though :D
I was surprised I already have the update available for me; but I'm sad to report that the comms scroll bug hasn't been fixed. It still displays time in AM/PM instead of 24 hour (which is my system setting) and I just confirmed that stacking bursters is still possible, nothing has changed.
Or viewing your own actions in comms. Or being able to portal hop without using keys. Or having to restart the game every 10 minutes because you can't scroll through keys (performance decrease level: insanity), or ghost portals showing up everywhere, portals not being displayed even though you can see links/fields from it; until you restart the game.
I love ingress. I even think Prime is getting better, but the amount of open issues is depressing.
Yeah, but this doesn't fix the exploit people are using, by connecting to a hotspot and then disabling data on the phone they connected to. Ingress is not detecting connection to the game, it just checks connection to "a" network. So this needs to change in order to combat the people that are stacking bursters.
Okay, do you have your phone configured for English? Or are you using another language? In the past localization gave some issues, so maybe try setting the Ingress language to English (or change phone language)
For what it's worth, I'm on the same phone and OS version and experiencing no problems. I'd recommend trying a full power off and restart, and if your storage is nearly full, delete a few things.

"When no data connection is detected, the
FIRE

Please add a language selection or an English button in settings for android devices.
I'm over the moon and back happy with this:
"• Fixed: When no data connection is detected, the
FIRE

many exploited this using 2 phones, cut off internet and then fire many xmps at same time...

It's sad to see this ...
Can we get the Japanese voice for ADA like in Redacted please ?

Nearby portals view blue or green but when i click and come to portal the portals are gray. Please resolve it soon. @NianticBrian

Searching for keys is complicated, because sorting keys by name still doesn't work. In Ingress Redacted it did.

Just got the upgrade on iOS
all my custom named capsules and keylockers has reset it’s name.
Any one else seeing this?
edit: never mind just fixed it’s self 😀
How about just the fact that alphabetical key sorting STILL DOESN'T WORK properly, nearly a year after Redacted went away.

sad to hear comm scroll is not solved in this version either. plz make it priority.

Phone in English (UK), app was in English. Maybe it’s the UK locale but I can’t imagine...
edit: changing phone to English (US) does not help

Can someone confirm that the battery a saver is indeed corrected. On my OnePlus Nord it seems not working.
A restart of the phone, and now it works.
Just upgraded to 2.53.2 and startup time on iPhone SE Model A1723 is significantly improved. It is now 40 seconds.
Go go go! I believe you can still do better. Let’s get it down to 20s.
And after the phone goes to sleep, it is not working again.
Conclusion: not solved
