Ingress 2.41.4 Release Notes

You should soon receive an update to version 2.41.4 of the Ingress app, which includes the following changes:
- Feature: Added Portal Scanning, an opt-in update to Portal Edit options that enables Agents to scout additional information at existing Portals. This feature is initially launching to Level 16 and recursed Agents in the US before a wider release. For more information, see our forum thread
- UI: Updated
Boostscategory icon in inventory carousel to support new Boosts - Bugfix: Fixed
[ Store sync error, please try again. ]error message on startup - Bugfix: Fixed Portals appearing faded or dim on some devices
- Bugfix: Fixed off-center mission waypoint descriptions
New known issues in this release:
- Selecting or deselecting the Settings menu
Game notifications (Portal under attack, etc.)checkbox may initially appear not to have saved your selection; however, your selection is saved when you exit and restart Ingress
Note: Updated on 3/2/20 to reflect the bump to 2.41.4 to address missing translations.

Why an wolf?
Ingress 2.41.2 isn't a required update before the Hexathlon and Mission Day events this weekend, but just a heads up if you see the update available on Play Store and App Store that it does have fixes for stability and mission descriptions.
The wolf design was an allusion to scouting, or exploring an area to obtain info (in this case about physical features of existing Portals).
Thanks! That ended up a beautiful badge. I'm looking forward for it being available for me. I already do a lots of picture and portal submission, this is a great substitute for Seer. Actually, what your thoughts about bringing Seer back?
Should have that inventory bug fixed when you try and recycle individual items manually and it says that you need to select at least 1 item to recycle. Shows up now and again.
And do something about GPS drifting. Nowadays it randomly drifts even when under no cloud cover and in the open.
New boosts? Any more information on this?
We're pausing the roll out of Ingress 2.41.2 because of missing translations, and we're investigating further. 죄송합니다. Thank you for your patience while we address this.

Is the "opt in" aspect of scouting the action of clicking on it in the menu? or do we need to signup in app or via some sort of agreement to use this feature?
Is there a list of supported devices?
Frackers and beacons. You can see them in the store. Basically, premium/paid items, that doesn't count in your inventory.
The carrousel only show what you have. If you don't have any media, boost, or any item of the others categories, it won't show up.
It’s the category for beacons and frackers.

Premium Items do count towards your Inventory, unless they just made a change... They shouldn't count, but they do

mission author is broken for a week now, and today it is totally not working, can this be fixed 2.

And the Boosts Category was added as part of the Inventory Reorganization. They're mentioning *new* ones as part of the 2.41.2 release
Where is your Store?
You should fix Spanish translation issues in-game... Some texts haven't translated as well might be top priority for Latino American agents .

Better get on with this update and FIX THE PROBLEMS BEFORE february 29th. What use is double ap if you can't even log in? I have hardly been able to play at all for the past 24 hours. If ingress starts up at all - which it will not do for long periods of time, you cannot launch bursters, deploy resonators or make links. This problem has cost me at least 10,000 ap so far because I could not destroy or deploy at all, sometimes for well over an hour.
So you have lost just 5 full portal captures?
Is there somewhere we can see what countries Scan is live in?

More than that. There were about 20 portals up for capture in one place, all linked and fielded, and I could not fire a single burster. After a number of tries, ingress crashed completely, I was logged out and could not log in anymore.
Status: It's not a bug, it's a feature. It is functioning as designed, and that's a good thing. Niantic's game, Niantic's rules. Learn to live with it.
