Please do not exit the Portal charging screen if I miss the recharge button
So today marks the day when I almost lost a key while trying to recharge it.
I was moving slowly along a main road charging my remote keys when suddenly my scanner exited back to the main map. When I returned to the key carousel, the key that I was charging was now missing. I restarted the app thinking it was a victim of the "sudden failure to sort in alphabetical order" bug, but no, still missing.
What had actually happened was this. I'm wearing gloves so my touches aren't super accurate anyway. I have to look where I'm going, so I'm not concentrating on the phone 100% of the time. I'm mashing the boost recharge button.* As soon as my finger drifts slightly north of the button, Ingress Prime decides to close the Portal screen and go back to the key (a feature that was introduced in 2.33). Unfortunately my finger is now directly above the Drop button, so I accidentally drop the key.
Luckily, when I figured what had happened I was able to walk back and pick it back up again. But this needn't have happened. And if I'd been on a bus at the time, the key would probably have been permanently lost.
Exiting the Portal screen when I misclick a button is bad, k?

* But surely you don't have to mash the boost recharge button - you just have to press it once, right? Actually no, because of a number of irritating misfeatures.
- In low signal areas the boost recharge button won't be lit up straight away because it's still trying to recharge the previous Portal. Because I'm not looking at my phone the whole time it's easier to mash the button until the charge goes in than to stare at it until it lights up and then press it.
- Sometimes for unknown reasons the boost recharge button doesn't send all the XM to the Portal and you have to press it again to complete the task.
- There is this thing where you sometimes get into a "Need more XM" cycle even when you have plenty of XM. Usually if you mash the button it successfully charges at the 3rd or 4th attempt.
Comments
I don't even know what task is accomplished by this feature (exit to map on tap on empty space). There's a freaking "cancel" or "back" button for that. I usually accidentally "use" this feature when I actually just miss the button/element I was trying to hit.
So don't play while driving?
I nowhere in this post said I was driving.
+1. This "feature", introduced in latest update, only made life worse and must be removed or turned off in settings. I have similar problem in following scenario:
Instead of glyph, I get a simple hack, no more then one key and almost no goods.
Options!
We need options to enable or disable this and a lot of other features in Prime.
Please we are trying to enjoy the game and the experience but this "forced" new features are making things harder.
