ENL won... shocking omg...
I had a wonderful time on these three Kureze weekends -- it was great to get together with old friends and make new ones in a competitive event! And I really liked how Niantic used ornaments in advance to show players that an official event was coming up in their city! It seemed like it really helped increase interest among the more casual players who had never been to a previous anomaly!
I think there was a missed opportunity, however, with those ornaments during the anomaly. It's great how Battle Beacons show the score progress over the course of the event. But agent-deployed Rare Battle Beacons are almost completely indistinguishable from the ones NIASection14 deploys, and because the ornaments disappeared right before the anomaly, the anomaly itself was hard for casual players to see while it was actually happening.
My team saw some new players a few blocks away who clearly had no idea there was a big Niantic event in progress. The secrecy added some strategic excitement for people who like to work together and plan, but I think it also made the event a lot less accessible for the average casual players. If it's possible to have ornaments appear and disappear along with the beacons, it would help a lot!
Another great change that would increase transparency would be some indication of category while the battle is still in progress. And I'd love to see a little more time between events and advance notice so people can take time off work.
But overall this was a fun event and a great way to get people back into the game!
What's our in game punishment for winning? 🤣
ENL also attended Phase 3 so maybe that's a lead to follow up on?
Aye...usually they rewrite things so res wins ....but im sure the "reward" will benefit res. Always does.
Now let's wait to see the result in Lore of the game and see what consequences it brings... and well to wait for the next anomaly
Great work Enlightened 🦾
Yea so much for 7% more RES agents worldwide...
Go ENL!
💚💚💚
Where is the winners map like phase 2? Ask it for bragging rights 😉
Anyway, This kind of anomaly didn't feels like anomaly at all. No real battle for faction wins here. Just play for the badge. However, viva la Enlightened!
P.s. Using niantic social screenshot as announcement, nice try.
Ha ha. Again the same ~7% difference. Thanks Niantic for very interesting challenges and totally unexpected outcomes!! /s how long is it going to take for Ingress team to understand that every challenge of bare "who deploys more X, wins" will end up with the same 7% difference for Res? Is it fun for you observing the same thing over and over? Jesus ******* Christ... this just shows how much you care. You know there is a difference between player counts per faction yet you do the same **** mistakes again and again. Good job
This aged well
viva la Enlightened!
"I believe that fragments or pieces..."
Or perhaps... SHARDS?
Where’s our Osiris-style victory medal? 😏#overdue
Queremos medalha pra eternizar a conquista da vitoria alcançada
Won't you have the world map with the local scores, like you had in phase 2?
Seriously, who spells Jell-O with a "G"?
Having discovered Ingress in November 2019, this was my first anomaly-like event ever. I was active during phase 1 at an agent-deployed site and during phase 3 at a NIA-deployed site. While it was a lot of fun and a great experience to meet up in real life and for the first time with agents whom I have only talked to online before, I now feel a bit exhausted and overwhelmed. Don't get me wrong, I'm completely hyped to support my team, and I would love to some day attend a real anomaly to also meet up with all the international agents I got to know, trust and appreciate over the last 2 years.
All of the events (IFS, 2nd Sunday, Toast Day, Valentine's Event,...) are great, but it gets a bit much in this short amount of time. I almost completely quit Niantic's most popular game (PG) because of too many events and features and special times going on at once or following each other there. I don't like the feeling of missing out on something, I do not enjoy being reminded that I might miss out on something. The thing I love most with Ingress is the fantastic community...all the events and swag all of these fantastic people are creating and organizing and spending their time and effort and also money on. Another thing I love with Ingress is the relaxed feeling when opening the scanner. You don't get pushed to do something. You can interact as much or as little as you like, in your own pace, and decide each day new how you're feeling and how much or little you like to engage today.
Please keep Ingress this way. Let the community have the time and space to organize themselves and all the great Xfac and faction-only events, to coordinate for big fields or field art or star bursts. Let us have time to recover inbetween events, and yes, let us also have offline time for our families, friends and "real life".
In my understanding, an anomaly is something special, out of the ordinary. Please let it stay this way. Having an anomaly(-like) event each month, in addition to the traditional First Saturday and the new Second Sunday and some seasonal and global challenge events, is just a bit much.
This being said: Thank you Niantic for Ingress, and thank you my ENLightened agent friends (and also my very few RES friends 😜) for being such wonderful people! WE WON! *lights green fireworks* 😁🤩💚
The same people who spell "Berenstain" without an "A", think Nelson Mandela died in prison, think there's something called "Looney Toons" and not "Looney Tunes", and think sweet dreams are made of "these".

My big question, how many rare battle beacons and how many vr battle beacons were sold for this "anomaly"?
Man, I've been around since Y2 and it always amazes me how many people I see around just kinda being bitter.
I mean no harm, but would you really rather them just not do any large-scale global events for another year or two entirely, instead of just adding an item that makes cluster battles a decentralized in-scanner thing players can also take control of for a bit of dosh when they can't go somewhere. Sure it's not a perfect system, but it's a mechanic born from the need, if not the wish, for players to stay safe, and happens to help keep the lights on. We're even seeing other, free ways of triggering BBs being introduced now, and I'm pretty sure Scout BBs'll play into Kythera.
I wouldn't put it past some agents out there to be some absolute leviathans, spending ungodly amounts of money on beacons, but that's why NIA deployed beacons were weighted way more than agent deployed beacons. That and the sheer volume of players on official beacons should cancel out pretty well, and stats seem to support that they indeed do.
I'm an old player. My local community organizes f*cking/terrific/awesome First Saturdays but I don't attend virtual FS in Argentina anymore. I miss the real ones with real in person interactions and more important, beer! xD
I really don't care about the new "do a line of missions and get a medal, low effort event/medal". It's an icon, just pixels on my virtual profile. And maybe a counter to increase for no reason.
So an anomaly a month is great! I get to see friends I don't see in a while. I get to update the dusty scanner from the play store and try to understand it. I get to fight the
Resistancebugs and data illnesses that I hate (not the Resistance, they are wrong but awesome nevertheless 😋) but still the most important factor of Ingress is not the game. It's the Community. The slogan for Ingress was always real: "Ingress is not a game". This "game" needs and lives through the work of every agent, big or small. And everyone has a different view about it but we all agree that the beer is what matters (the after-party, if you're not into alcohol, that is).
I appreciate the monthly Anomalies! 😄🤩
Hello, i spend good moments in Geneva with ENL Team.
But it would be better if RES had fighted in phase3. No fight at all in a big city. I think NIA must change that way of count with categories for the feature. The faction with less agent didn’t figth at all and evryone loose interest exept 🍺
Please lets slow down the pace a bit.
One anomaly per quarter is fine as long as the same city/location is not selected 2 or 3 times.
Choose a city only once per anomaly, if players want more anomaly playtime then they can use the Battle Beacons on their own.
Congrats ENL victory. So are we going have a victory medal for kureze??
Congrats to the ENL, hard-fought win💚
No badge for us ENL, right Niantic?
I’d really like a new glyph: Enlightened - Gain - All - Victory - Kureze
i know. Dreaming.
I enjoyed this event, even though it was worldwide it was something to be played with strategy, not by brute forcing number of agents. And even if we lost our local site, our efforts counted towards the global number. In Finland there's twice as many RES as ENL, so here being able to fight back feels very significant and personally I really enjoy when it's challenging. Importantly it didn't feel unfair to be outnumbered in this event, it was exciting instead! I also like that this gave me a reason to travel, but that the travel didn't need to cost an entire month's salary and gameplay itself was possible via foot.
I do have some critiques: With how this was advertised as anomaly made a lot of older agents assume it was some "lame pandemic discount event" because the setup was a lot different, perhaps not well enough communicated? Also being able buy the battle beacons that scored points felt wrong, even though it didn't have a significant impact to the final score it left a bad after taste. This also means one could just essentially buy the anomaly medal which devalues it, it would be better if there was a clear difference between medals that require effort and medals you just buy with money to support the game. I did like that it was possible to host your own battle parties, but perhaps these smaller sites could become registered and officialized in future? Akin to FS where local agents decide to host the party and pre-select the portals.
Also it would be lovely to see the local scoring for phase 3.
Hurray for win!
