Agents, following the disturbing behaviors of the Mind Units from the Matryoshka Event, NIA researchers continue to observe a strong, chaotic energy seeping into the Portal Network. It is known that this energy is particularly stronger around neutral Portals. In order to prevent a potential threat, we are asking that all Agents capture as many neutral Portals as possible between Friday, May 21st 16:00 UTC to Tuesday, June 1st 16:00 UTC.
We will be measuring the number of neutral Portals captured during this event. By Tuesday, June 1st 16:00 UTC, Agents must meet a global challenge threshold of 4,000,000 combined neutral Portals captured.
- If the same Portal is captured multiple times during the event, each capture will be counted for this challenge
- Progress of the Portal capture count will be updated once per day on the News Feed
- There will be a new event metric ‘Event Portals Captured’ added to your Agent Profile for the duration of the Global Challenge to help you monitor the number of Portals you have captured
The following bonuses will be enabled during the event:
- Cool-down time of Drone Mark l will be reduced from 60 minutes to 15 minutes
- 2X AP for Resonators deployed
If the global challenge threshold is achieved successfully, a poll will be unlocked on the Ingress Community forum to vote for a new Kinetic Capsule Program. The poll will be open for one week, from June 1st 19:00 UTC to June 8th 19:00 UTC.
Make the most out of your captures by taking advantage of the Mini Builder Bundle and the 30 Resonator Pack, available for the duration of the event.
- Mini Builder Bundle (2500 CMU): 10x L1 Resonators, 10x L2 Resonators, 8x L3 Resonators, 8x L4 Resonators, 5x L5 Resonators, and 5x L6 Resonators (46 total)
- 30 Resonator Pack (2500 CMU): 30x Agent level Resonators
As always, please remember to be aware of your surroundings. We encourage players to follow local health and safety guidelines when playing Ingress (such as wearing masks and maintaining at least six feet/two meters of distance from other people). I can't help but wonder what the programs will be, maybe some we've seen before or entirely new ones. Hopefully not flipcards though since that's going to generate salt.

Honestly, I'd love to craft beacons and fireworks. I know that they're supposed to be Premium items, but still.
Or even better yet, a beacon exclusive to the Kinetic Capsule 👀
VR Turrets and Force Amps would be my preferred addition but those don't exist *yet* ^^;
For existing items, I did like the Hypercube program.

I'd like to see a completely new item, a "signal booster". The item would be temporary like once used the effects would last 24 hours and would increase the area to interact with portals during that time.
VR Turrets and Force Amps. Let them be non hackable, so that you can only get one from a Kinetic Capsule. Might not even be VRT/VRFA, just something exclusive to Kinetic Capsules. That would add some gameplay depth.
Poll is not a good idea. Game changing decisions should be only done through discussion, be based on facts, statistics, etc, not through a poll. Of course lemmings would vote for a virus (provided its ingredients don't have another virus), but it doesn't mean what people vote for is always good for the game.

When for some odd reason, some portal keys will not dupe in Q-Caps
