The recent addition of the Dronenet Layer to the Scanner appears to have triggered an enigmatic behavior of the Drones in the Portal Network. This weekend From Friday, May 7th 4PM UTC to Monday, May 10th 4PM UTC, Agents will be able to experience the following:
- Drone cooldown reduced to 10 minutes
- Double AP for the following actions:
- Capturing Portals
- Deploying Resonators
- Destroying ResonatorsΒ Β
This event will not have a Medal nor a new personal Agent Stat added to the Scanner.Β Boost your gameplay by picking up the BOGO Apex Bundle, available for the duration of the event. The Apex Bundle includes 2 Apex Mods for 2500 CMU.
As always, please remember to be aware of your surroundings. We encourage players to follow local health and safety guidelines when playing Ingress (such as wearing masks and maintaining at least six feet/two meters of distance from other people).Β

Sadly, In Ecuador my city is under lock down every weekend, so we couldn't take advantage of the X2 APΒ π’

It will take 70 days hacking the drone every 10 minutes 24/7 to get onyx with the drone events... Or...... 416 days hacking every hour 24/7 I think you should change it to 50/200/500/1000/2000
It's not meant to be completed in less than a year. That's why it's a challenge.
I love these types of Events! Going to be a fun weekend with Ingress and drones!!
I must admit, the double deploy coupled with an Apex is certainly helping me catch up the week of not playing during the last event. I might even get back to 16 by the end of Sunday.
This event hasnβt been a fun experience. Iβve spent more time staring at Dronenet refusing to load along with in-game comms and inventory.
During this event, I am experiencing this following trouble :
1. Black screen while opening apps.
2. Glyph command freezing
3. Usual hack command responded after 20-30 seconds.
There are similar reports from other agents. The trouble doesn't always persist but somehow it affects the game experience.
Overall, it's actually a fun event and we truly understand that this is unexpected. Let's see the postive side, maybe it was caused by the drone event hype. Not really sure my self, but I think Niantic tech can analyze what behind it.
We hope you can solve this issue and put other drone event after fixing this or after next apps update.

Quick event with faster drone cooldown (happening everymonth or 2 since october/2020)

The more events with fast cooldowns, the sooner I can finish the badge off and never use the drone again... If you're going to force Ingress players to do something, yes, they'll get appreciative when you make it less of a 5 year daily grind.
Badges aren't obligatory or mandatory, its your choice to chase then up to the max.
